Well stated. See my post above.
In the Post just above yours, Shery makes this comment: "Why would anyone even consider asking HIS opinion?"
The answer so-called "progressives" would give is that Emanuel is known as the "architect" of the plan.
On the other hand, for true conservatives, HIS opinion underlies the very reason those who love the ideas of America's foundations in liberty, who treasure the life of the most innocent and vulnerable in the society, and who see the Hand of the Creator, NOT some pre-supposed "value" placed on human life by folks like Emanuel and the current Administration must understand what he so clearly enunciated in the statement included in this article as being the very antithesis of respect for our Constitution's protections, as framed on the foundation outlined in the Declaration of Independence from tyranny.
Even better said!!
It is no coincidence that early Progressives like Woodrow Wilson and Goodnow openly railed against the Founder's adherence to the "laws of nature and nature's God." Nor is it a coincidence that the 5th article of the Humanist Manifesto (signed by John Dewey, btw, the father of the modern education system) states: "Humanism asserts that the nature of the universe depicted by modern science makes unacceptable any supernatural or cosmic guarantees of human values."
Our freedoms have been under assault for quite some time.
