Carondolet, huh? Maybe we should get the boys from across the street to make the rabble rousers see the error of their ways. That would be De La Salle HS, they of the 152-game football winning streak a couple years ago.
I love corn bread that has toasted corn kernels and jalepenos .
Dip that in some honey and it’s manna from heaven.
“Best eaten on a nice spring day, while fishing for large mouth bass.”
Sounds like a perfect day! :-)
BBQ ribs and collard greens with bacon and almonds is just awesome.
They forgot the okra.
This belongs with the dead chickens on the side of the road memorial article about PETA.
The news gets funnier and funnier as it gets sadder and sadder.
No. Yoos uh “Crackuh”.
Ain’t nobody ever learned yoos propuh englash?
Just as long that during Gay Pride Week they don’t serve hotdogs and fudge
That and some beer.
Don’t see how it could get better unless Jane Seymour insisted on cleaning my fish while dressed provacatively
The bay area crowd wouldn’t know how to stereotype a black ethnic group if it bit them in the ass. Everybody in Texas, and I’m sure elsewhere, eats some or all of these items. It’s Southern cuisine, if you please. Chicken, cornbread, and watermelon are enjoyed by several ethnicities.
Ever been to where they had chitlins, cornbread, and greens on the menu? That’ll get you closer to where you want to go with this ethnic stereotyping bullsh*t.
Come to Texas and we’ll give you a big ol’ helping of mountain oysters. Just something you find “Hanging Around” on the ranch down here. Oops, did that offend you?
Lol!
Its more a southern thing than race thing!
I love greens. When I was a federal employee, our office had an unofficial Black History Month potluck, in which Blacks participated. The rest of us, um, were not supposed to be there, I guess. My typist always saved me a wonderful plate of homemade greens, though, and, no, I had never asked her to. She just knew I’d be happy.
It made my day.
What a bunch of nonsense. So, when Oktoberfest time rolls around they should not serve brats and beer? Or, how about St. Patrick’s day - they can no longer serve corned beef and cabbage with sour dough bread?
Those who would do so are vile, perfidious, seditious scum, and would see all of US dead if given half a chance.
Anyone who doesn't grasp that reality is splashing around in that big river in Egypt.
I like fried chicken and watermellon and cornbread, does that mean I can claim Africn-American status? Where is my free stuff?
Did someone mention “bush meat”. Isn’t that like monkey meat served with termites or bark or something. If it is, I’ll have to pass on that.
Oh, the final word is on ethnic cuisine is “HAGIS”. Now that should offend anyone except a drunken Scotsman.
Too funny!
Shhhhh, not too loud...
Cheap dinner is to buy the neck bones. Walmart believe it or not has the best in my town. You have to wash the neck bones thoroughly to get the bone chips out from the meat cutter or cut the meat from the bones. I prefer to leave the bones with the meat and put them in the pot for flavor. Sear the meat in a pan then throw them into the pot with the collard leaves (one or two bunches torn up a little), a little fatty jowl pork, salt, pepper (maybe half a jalapeno)garlic, an onion, water and a can of vegetable stock just enough to cover. Bring to boil then simmer for 45 minutes.
No more taco fixins in the grocery store ads for Cinco de Mayo!
