There’s definitely something going on. Usually a politician would just ignore a rival. Cornyn’s primary is on March 4th. And I hope the people March Forth to the polls and Cornyn winds up under 50%.

Then Texas can have a runoff in May for the minority whip, with the minority leader’s primary a week before. We can potentially be rid of both Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn within a week of each other!
