There’s a tangible value in higher education for embracing leftist theory. Just ask high school and university students attending the upcoming national White Privilege Conference.
“High school students, undergraduate and graduate students may earn 1-4 hours of academic credit at either the undergraduate level in Women’s and Ethnic Studies or Education: Curriculum and Instruction, or at the graduate level in Sociology, or Education: Curriculum and Instruction,” the conference’s website states.
High school students seeking credit are required to read “Privilege, Power and Difference” by Allan G. Johnson as well as “Understanding White Privilege” by Frances Kendall.
Twenty percent of a student’s grade is comprised of writing a three-page paper on their “personal privilege,” where students consider, among other things, “how has privilege, in any/all forms, shaped your life? (consider race, class, gender, sexuality, disability, etc.),” according to the syllabus.
Another 30 percent of a student’s grade is comprised of creating an “action plan” to implement what they learn at the White Privilege Conference into their personal and school life. Such suggestions include:
Starting a student club focused on issues of diversity, privilege and inclusion at school, or a youth group at your church, synagogue, recreation center, etc. Developing a specific workshop you would like to present at school or in some other organizational setting once you return home A film series you would like to organize and offer for your school or community
Many states require teachers to take additional college courses to maintain their teaching certificate. The White Privilege Conference organizers have that covered, too.
“For participants seeking clock hours or continuing education units in fields other than education, we provide general [Continuing Education Units]. General CEUs provide a means of documenting and verifying hours of participation at the WPC. Participants are responsible for contacting their employers, professional organizations or governing bodies to find out if these general CEUs will be accepted,” the site claims.
This year’s White Privilege Conference will take place March 26-29 in Madison, Wisconsin.
In addition to public employees attending, taxpayers are also sponsoring the event. So far, the University of Wisconsin and the University of Northern Iowa are listed as sponsors.
EAGnews attended last year’s conference and reported some 2,000 people from 41 states attended, according to organizers.
These dopes just do not get it.

I do feel privileged to live in a largely white town that has few problems with crime or corruption. I feel blessed to come from generations of white people with good values.
I also regard white Christian heterosexual men with gratitude for what they have done and are doing to sustain a civil society.
I worked in them dang cotton fields when I was a kid. And I sacked groceries and pumped gas and fixed flats for 50 cents an hour. I wouldn’t have had those opportunities if I hadn’t been white.
Wait a second. There were blacks working with me. Hmmmm. Did I get screwed?
There haven’t been many ‘privileges’ for being white for quite a while; especially in academia.
I just thought of something. Are they going to dump on white homosexual men and lesbians as examples of ‘white privilege’? After all, they tend to be more affluent, because most are not raising children, so they have lots of disposable income. But I guess they are one of the politically protected classes, therefore they CAN’T be part of the ‘white privilege’ group.
Privilege is the new Marxist term for Whitey. Just another villain to steal from.

If whites HAD BEEN 12% of the population and blacks HAD BEEN a clear majority I guarantee there would NOT be this great country, even with all its faults.
Nothing against blacks-—it’s just that America was FOUNDED by whites who GAMBLED with their LIVES to come here, WORKED and DIED to found this country.
Truth pisses off too many people in this age of political “correctness”, and I, for one, am sick of it.
According to kids I know who are exposed to this crap, the main theme is rather ‘simple’ - just by the fact of being white, you are leaps and bounds ahead in the game of life.
Being white means you never had a cop question you;
never had a teacher give you a ‘look’;
never had a clerk in a store watch you.
It’s freakin endless and very dangerous, imho.
What the racialists would have to do to make me believe “white privilege” somehow gives me, as a white person, some sort of unfair advantage, is to show minorities with equal rates of scholastic achievement, teen pregnancy, and avoidance of trouble with the law as whites. This they cannot do. So they came up with the thoroughly screwy idea that because whites don’t commit crimes, get pregnant as young or as often, and do poorly in school at the same rate as minorities, the whites have an unfair advantage. It’s lib “logic” at its finest.
