This is clearly caused by excessive CO2 and global warming.

I wouldn't make fun, but this nowhere near the scale of (for example) the tsunami that hit Japan in 2011.

On the bright side; these crashing sea waves should eliminate the triffid problem in coastal areas. Had to look up "Triffid".
It's worse than I tought - They sound like democrats!!!
"Triffids are tall plants capable of aggressive and seemingly intelligent behaviour. They are able to move about by "walking" on their roots, appear to communicate with each other, and possess a deadly whip-like poisonous sting that enables them to kill their victims and feed on their rotting carcasses. Their appearance is vaguely similar to gigantic asparagus shoots topped with a flower-like 'head' that somewhat resemble a Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid and houses their deadly stinger."

They sound like democrats!!! LOL...never looked at them from that perspective! (In the movie; triffids were destroyed by sea water...in the book; they just learned to 'co-exist' with humanity. Can Democrats 'co-exist' with others? Hmmm...)
