With the start of the 2014 tax-filing season delayed until Jan. 31, tens of thousands of taxpayers already have had to wait longer than planned for their federal tax refund.
Now those refunds could be threatened by the debt ceiling fight.

I have not gotten a refund since the mid-90’s. There is a reason for that. And now that reason is actually being realized.
This is so far, all BS. I have two family members who have already received their returns.
No problem...... if not payed on time a penaly will be due on top of the interest at 12% apr
my refund will be here the 10th.. pays to get it in as quick as possible I get.
Get your money back quick before they run out (literally).
I might be able to super-size my meal with the refund.
This is such BS. Yet another example of the 0bamunists crafting a way to make political opposition to their diktats most painful on the American people.
And, still the sheeple follow merrily along...
We have two kids in school, spending over 45K/year, but get back 2500/kid from taxes; luv when that 1098T comes in the mail.
I haven’t had a tax refund in 20 years.
That refund is not the governments money. It’s my money that they forced my to loan them at no interest.
Now they won’t give me my money back? The federal budget or the debt ceiling has nothing to do with the balance sheet between the govt and myself when its my money in the first place that they are holding..
