Posted on 02/07/2014 5:11:10 AM PST by Kaslin
For a few terrifying moments last week, Sandra Fluke wanted to be my congressman.
Opps, I mean congresswoman. Wait, Im being gender normative again and assuming you can only be male or female. Thats so sexist. Probably racist too.
Ok, let me try again. For a couple days, Sandra Fluke wanted to be my congressbeing.
Wait, is that beingist? Trying to be as PC as my progressive milieu is so hard sometimes.
See, I live in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, which is in Californias 33rd Congressional District. The 33rd was designed by the totally nonpartisan, neutral and independent redistricting commission to writhe and twist its way up the coast, gathering into one district every pinko, commie and goose-stepping liberal fascist within whining distance of the Pacific Ocean. Michael Barone would know for sure, but I think my district is something like Obama +42.
Let me put it this way: As a conservative veteran who believes in God, the flag and never, ever hugging, I count as diversity for pretty much everyone I know here.
Our current congressman is Henry Waxman, that youthful, vibrant, and fresh face of liberalism. After 40 years, he has an unbroken record of being wrong on every single issue. He is retiring, having failed in his quest to destroy America as the Founders imagined it.
And Sandra Fluke announced that she was going to complete his lifes work.
You know, as I went about my daily business here in the South Bay, at the beach, in the bars, then in other bars, I could feel the excitement Sandra Flukes potential candidacy generated. After all, our biggest issue here is how to address the needs of grown women in law school who cant figure out how to pay for their own birth control.
Now, I was a grown man in law school once, and I somehow managed to pay for my own birth control. But I cant presume to understand the personal struggles of a 31 year old woman like Sandra Fluke who was unable to figure out how to come up with the dough for her own contraceptives. To even try would be a patriarchal microaggression of macro proportions. And the last thing I want to do is microaggress by expecting a woman to meet the same standards of self-sufficiency as a man.
Frankly, Im a little disappointed by her lack of feminist ambition. Sandra Fluke only expected someone else to pay for her birth control. She could have gone full Wendy Davis and expected someone else to pay for her entire legal education.
Still, we cant take away from Sandy the fact that she has a formidable track record of accomplishment. Literally, one accomplishment. She passed the California Bar exam in 2012. Good for her, but lets not pretend that it takes a genius. You should see some of the people I deal with every day.
So, the person who wanted to represent me in Congress based her short-lived candidacy entirely on a resume that consisted of becoming a lawyer yeah, we need more of those in Washington and being Americas most celebrated contraceptive moocher.
I was sold.
But apparently the Democrat machine wasnt. See, there were a bunch of typical liberal LA politicians furious that, after waiting for four decades for Waxman to either vapor lock or quit, they were going to get body checked by a woman who became a feminist hero for hitting up Uncle Sam to underwrite her erotic adventures.
You could just see her debate opponent gingerly tiptoeing around saying what he/she really, really wanted to say about this feminist icon, but couldnt: Seriously? Sandra Fluke? Are you freaking kidding me? I paid my dues and she couldnt even pay for her diaphragm!
Instead, her opponents would have had to nod and mouth platitudes about how Flukes whiny demands that other people subsidize her lifestyle make her an important voice for independent (sic) women everywhere.
But the machine never let it get that far. After Fluke started getting media coverage, the machine laid down the law. Sandra pulled out quick insert your own joke here and promised to run for a state senate seat instead. I guess she figured we need a voice in Sacramento speaking out against Californias ultraconservative status quo.
Now, thanks to the Golden States weird primary laws, the contest in the 33rd will probably be between two other Democrats, Left and Leftier. But there is another option.
I could run for the seat. A conservative Republican (at least until the GOP enacts amnesty) who expects people to pay for their own birth control, and who supports the repeal of all social programs that dont involve giving money to wounded warriors, has a theoretical chance of winning. After all, we elected a Republican in the 33rd back in the 90s. Of course, it was the 1890s.
But I dont want to be in Congress. I prefer to remain married. Hot Wife Irina likes me being home, and I think my leaving her for 16 months with a six-month old to deploy post-9/11 checked both our Served Our Country boxes. Second, I dont want to be in Congress because I dont feel like taking the cut in either pay or prestige.
So, heres my plan for 2014. Im going to sit back and watch the train wreck. Well, not exactly sit back. Ive been practicing what I preach by getting involved at the local level as we try to make Republicans viable around here again. And there are plenty of solid conservative candidates like Tom Cotton who might actually win to support out there in sane America.
Waxman was known for having wide open nostrils. If Fluke wants to replace him, what does she have that’s wide open?..... Oh, never mind.
Sandra's official after-glow campaign portrait.
"I strongly considered offering my candidacy for Congress,
now I feel there is a better way for me to advance the causes that
are important.....and besides the state Senate will give me
more time for non-stop sex w/ free govt-subsidized protection."
Lock-stepping Sandra's state Senate campaign aligns herself w/ Obama and Nancy Pelosi---advocates for a felatio free- for-all (cackle).
5/9/12 HUFF/POST REPORT---Cong Nancy Pelosi sent out an appeal on behalf of the DCCC:
"Isn't it great? President Obama just announced that he supports marriage equality for all Americans...
We must continue to fight - in the courts, in state legislatures, and in Congress - until all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans are guaranteed fair treatment in our country.
Add your name right now to stand with President Obama in support of marriage equality."
"Hi, I'm Wendy, I wage war on men. A couple of rolls in
the hay and they're writing me checks. I even get to
dispose of their babies in clean, state-approved clinics."
I guess you don’t have much of a birth control constituency.
Careful guys. She got smart. She ran for a lower(more winnable) office. She’ll move up the ladder. Who would want to marry her?
My bad. Bill married Hillary.
“congressman, er... woman, ... er being”
Don’t even try! The underlying rule is that if you’re conservative, especially a hetero white Christian male conservative,
if a “progressive” thinks you’re making a point,
then you’re painted as some sort of “ist” and not worthy of debating.
Maybe Janet Reno?
$3000/year for birth control for that?
She could buy the beer till closing time and have a case waiting to dull the senses in the morning and she still wouldn’t need birth control.
A Rosa DeLauro in the making.
I imagine she just wants to stay home and spend more time with her condoms.
She’s’ got them crazy eyes!
State Senate dems frothing at the mouth. “Here she comes, boys. Get ready....”
Hitler was ranting about Fluke two years ago
I think Ms. Fluke found out the hard way there were others ahead of her in line, it’s called the “bums rush”
Sandra pulled out quick insert your own joke here
LOL. Nope, not going there.
On the plus side, she had hoped to break the Adult Video Network record for most-copulating actress, by offering to have sex with every single one of her constituents, while exclusively using taxpayer funded condoms.
I’ve given it a lot of names, but ‘joke’ isn’t one of them.
Heh heh heh
Anyone w/ evidence that Fluke actually has sex w/ men gets a roll in the hay w/ a rubber-sheathed Congressman.
Those were the lines for the prior decade when it was a Black district.
