You think you are paying less. But you are really paying twice. You pay for the cheap import and then you pay again for the unemployed. Did you think those 100 million Americans on food stamps are free? You're paying for that. Both through higher taxes AND the nation is racking up record debt. And you are your kids are eventually going to have to pay for that too.
Cheap imports are not cheap. 24% unemployment has a high cost.
High tariffs worked well for this country for 185 years. It's time to go back to the founding father's plan. Raise import tariffs and reduce income taxes by an equal amount.
