it’s the same reason wwi and wwii were engineered. they cause the conflict, fund both sides, and out of the mess they arrange even more control over people.

Actually that makes sense except for one thing...Muslims aren't so easy to control except by their grand poo-bahs. Other than that, ever since I read Captains and Kings, I totally agree.
