What the announcement means is that the Australian population is so small it can not support a Toyota plant.

It is economically more sensible to import Toyotas.

You think that all vehicles produced at a specific plant in a specific country in the world are meant to supply just that country’s needs?

I think this is a case of the dominoes falling: Didn’t GM announce a few weeks back that they were quitting AUS? That makes the local suppliers less economic, etc. The whole industry implodes.
