Okay, so dozens, or maybe hundreds, of teens were involved. But 200 deputies could not handle the situation. It would seem to me if it were 200 teens vs. 200 deputies, it would be a slam dunk for the deputies.

This reminds me of an old story told about the Texas Rangers. A town was experiencing a riot, so the mayor wired the Texas Rangers for help. Shortly thereafter a Ranger rode into town.

"What!", the mayor cried, "they're only sending one Ranger?"

"You only have one riot," the Ranger replied.

Cops hands are tied. They get too rough on the little darlins and the black leaders will call for a Civil rights investigation.
Back in the old days this would have been handled differently. Cops would have cracked a few heads and threw some in jail.
