True.

For instance, the officer could have laid on the siren
until the owner came out and contained his dogs.

Ultimately, though, responsibility lies with the owner for allowing his dogs to run wild.
If he had contained his dogs, as he should,
the neighbors would have had no need to phone the police
and the dogs would not have been out in the street confronting the cop.

If you love your dogs, err on the side of caution.
Don’t count on others to be as knowledgeable and sensible as you are.
There are many potentially dangerous situations that loose dogs may face,
some, but not all them, have police badges.

Another Muslim acting out his Islamic background - remember that MadMo hated dogs, as do all thieves.

That service dog was kicked within two seconds of the door sound on the audio track from the dash cam.

Mr. Muslim lied about the dog attacking and attacking a second time. The sound track makes that clear and unambiguous.

The Police Chief should be fired and both the Chief and Mr. Muslim sued.

A local jury probably would not like either the Chief’s “Boyz-N-Blue are always tru” attempt, not the Muslim’s shooting of a service animal.

Police Chief Tim Reeves explained to a local Fox affiliate, "My decision was that [Hassani] did a good job and he was totally justified in putting the dog down."

It never fails. He would have said the same thing if it had been the 9 year old boy instead of the dog.

The dog killer was named Tarek Hassani. Probably explains a lot.

It was filled in on a rubber stamp => “My decision was that Officer __________ did a good job and he was totally justified in ______ ____ _____ _________.”

Dear Kanawa,

Rarely am I moved to personally rebuke a fellow FReeper, but your smug post was just too much to allow to pass.

Firstly, I know you are Canadian, that Canadians are accustomed to a far greater degree of socialism than Americans (though our Libtards/Obamoids are working diligently), and thus you come from a society which was subjects rather than citizens.

However, in smaller towns in America dogs do run around in their yards and sometimes in the local area. It has always been such and we AMericans don’t take kindly to foreigners and Big Sh*ty types wanting (usually demanding) that we change to suit their views.

We are besieged by “Do-Gooders” who claim in the name of protecting pets and enforcing “Da Law”, to allow Authorities to manage our animals. “Manage” means take/ransom pets via socialized “animal Control” agencies.

It does give jobs to those who Fast Food chains refuse to hire. Alas, those clods are often armed and dangerous.

Cops are now all too often militarized here in America. Muslims and Islamic Law is being given special status by the crypto-Muslim in our White Mosque on Pennsylvania, Avenue and by Democraps at every level of American agencies.

The Policed Chief is all too typical, in that he hired a known Muslim and should have known their Islamic prejudices/hatreds. He allowed his need to make a politically correct hire to overcome his better judgement, assuming he has any. Given his career and recent behavior, a case can be made he has no better judgement.

I note with no little loathing, that you seem to be one of those who are all too willing to tell others how to manage their pets, from exercising them to the muzzle question - which your about page appears to present you as favoring.

May I suggest muzzling thyself?

Far fewer virtual brickbats will come your way, especially as collectivist infected foreigners have great difficulty understanding American society.

labs are known to try to lick people to death.

Mine will just knock you over - slowly. She'll heel beside you. If you don't pet her and scratch behind her ears she'll start leaning into you and head butting your hip/thigh until either you give in, fall over, or walk away. We call her "attention sponge" ...

Post of the year GG! Great job! (See my post #54 this thread for my thoughts). There is no way in hell this shooting needed to happen. None. Zero. Nada. There is a huge tie in between the amount of dog shootings recently......and our LEO’s becoming steroided up, fat out of shape militarized jackboot thugs with poor training and zero accountability for their actions. The boot licks still have a ‘I don’t think the dog should have been shot but.....’ and then they give a litany of reasons why it was justified. Never fails. That poor little boy lost his best pal for no reason because of this trigger happy muzzie cop.

Well I just sent a rather rude email to the Chief.

That dog did not try to bite him, and the fat POS ‘officer’ KICKED the dog!

The dog was on his own property, as well.

Tarek Hassani - the name of the killer, sounds muslim, aye? Maybe he’s just a big, fat pussy.

I sure hope the neighbor bitch is proud of herself.

Want to send an email? I found the link here:
http://www.usacops.com/id/p83328/

And no, I do not let my dogs run free, maybe the owner should have kept his dog Hooch inside, but this was over the top, and a lovely dog is dead.

Shame on the wimp.

Some “hero”-—shooting a kid’s dog on his birthday.

The officer should should turn in his badge and accept the same consequences we mundanes face if we shoot or kill a police dog.

But he won’t.

And most people won’t demand that he will.

...and to think that many people think pitbulls and dobermans are inherently aggressive and prone to attack at the drop of a pin. (They may have da ebils, but they are still more trustworthy.)

The number of police killed by dogs is greatly dwarfed by the number of dogs killed by police.

having watched the entire dash-cam ....and being a total dog lover and dog owner ; this cop was justified in shooting the dog . The dogs were aggressive , and repeatedly challenged the officer . He had no backup and fearing immediate attack , he defended himself . What else could he do ? Cower in the vehicle ? Maybe try and call the house and owner and advise of situation ? Hard hard call . Once he had shot the dog he did a good job of trying to explain to the dog owner what happened , kept control of the situation , calmed the owner and repeatedly apologized for shooting the dog . Very sad . But he was justified , not a thug and not an error . The owner knew the leash law and admitted that he’d violated it . So sad . If anything , the dog owner was to blame .

So, that is what you take away from my post GG? Pity.
My intention was to present general principles that may save dogs lives
and people's pain at their loss.
Of course you may adapt those principles to specific situations.

collectivist infected foreigners have great difficulty understanding American society

I spent my formative years growing up in the US.
From 1959-1967...from age 8 to age 16.
I lived in North Carolina, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
In North Carolina, I Christmas caroled on the 'other side of the tracks' of Rocky Mount.
In Connecticut, I saw Kennedy campaigning at a shopping mall.
I watched with concern, on our little black and white TV,
Kennedy's address to the people regarding the Cuban Missile Crisis.
I watched with pride as WE marched towards the moon.
Unlike a certain 'American' who thinks the call to prayer is the most beautiful sound,
to me it was laying in my bed at night in the Boston area with my new fangled transitor radio
and being able to pull in Cleveland Indian ballgames.
(We Americans like to cheer for the underdog :))
I was let out of school and gravitated to the church when the news
of JFK's assassination became known and I cried as an American.
I read American comics.
I traveled from one coast of the US to the other.
I still remember being in awe of the basket-weave of expressways in Kansas city

Apparently unlike some today, I learned American History
and it instilled pride in me and a deep appreciation
of how exceptional and precious the US, as founded, is in the history of the world.

So, before you judge me too harshly,

look at Obama
and understand that being an American is much more than being a mere citizen,
it is loving America in your heart, it is living by its principles.

And that smugness is not just limited to 'foreigners'.

Sure, why not give a member of a homicidal/suicidal death cult a badge and a gun. What could go wrong?

A well thought out response to my post, yet it does not respond to the issues I raised. My post was about the issue of property rights, micromanaging human(and even animal) behavior through excessive regulation, and curbing out of control, militarized, hyper-agressive police power.

Citizenship, particularly American citizenship, is a matter of commitment to the American Premises as defined in the Founding Documents. Any people can take these ideas and become a free and prosperous people.

So far, only one has, and from the disastrous expansion of laws/regulations, it seems even Americans no longer want to regulate their own behavior. Some, however, are ever eager to regulate the behavior of others.

That refusal to regulate ones own behavior has been so common a pattern that even leash and muzzle laws are now commonly accepted.

As for that Muslim-N-Blu, he evidently had troubles with dogs on other occasions, and once before (assuming he is not lying) he was bitten. Given the fact that postal and delivery employees are not as fearful of pets, a case can be made that cops must first work successfully as postal or delivery workers before they can be trusted with a firearm.

If a postman can deal with dogs all day long, why can a cop not do the same?

I should also point out the obvious - Filer, ID is a town of 2,500 according to the 2010 census. It is the archetypical American small town.

Thanks to the introduction of Big Sh*ty dog laws probably pushed by small minded socialists masquerading as do-gooders “protecting animals”, a town of 2,500 has dog laws suited for Neu Yuk Sh*ty.

America is reaping what was sown for over four generations. Allowing collectivists like commies and Big Sh*ty Socialists into American schools has brought America near to the point of revolt. The more revolting government employees become, the closer America moves to open revolt.

Allowing Muslims into the West was an idea that was doomed from the beginning, as the behavior of the Muslim cop in Filer, ID demonstrates. That Obama has allowed Muslims into America is no accident. As an agent of the Saudi Royal family, his debased bowing and scraping before things Muslim is both to be expected of a Muslim and treasonous.

In any case, thanks for a stimulating discussion.

City Opens Investigation of Dog Shooting by Officer

Police Officer Tarek Hassani was placed Tuesday on administrative leave following Saturday’s shooting death of a resident’s dog, said city Mayor Rick Dunn.

The city’s move follows local and national outcry stemming from a video recording of a black Labrador’s demise, including many calls from Magic Valley residents for his job.

“We want (Hassani) fired,” said Rick Clubb, Hooch’s owner. “He had other options. He didn’t have to kill my dog.”

After the Times-News posted the police department’s video of the shooting — from Hassani’s dashboard-mounted camera — on Magicvalley.com on Monday, calls began to flood City Hall, city officials said.

Deputy City Clerk Debbie McMahan said Tuesday she has received about 60 calls from concerned residents. McMahan said she asks callers for their contact information and promises that the mayor will call them back.

Mark Deaton, of Twin Falls, started a Facebook page called “Officer Hassani Get Out Of Filer, Idaho” that garnered more than 3,000 “likes” in less than 24 hours.

Deaton said he plans to hold a rally at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the parking lot of Cedar Lanes in Filer to show support for Clubb and Hooch.

“We are hoping for several hundred people to show up,” Deaton said. “There are lots of upset people who want to support Rick. We’ve had responses from all over the country.”

Hassani’s home phone number is unlisted, and city officials asked Tuesday in a press release for “patience” as an investigation into the use of force moves forward.

Got nothing to add your posts.

Just agreement.

Unnecessary, most likely “normal Muzzie madness”.

Google “Muslims kill dogs” and watch what pops up.

They’re here and they’re killing our dogs because *they* don’t like them.

When they’ve infiltrated our LEO like they’ve done already infiltrated our government, they will start a pogrom on all our dogs.

Mark my words.
