I had many ST as a kid and they are 7up and grenadine , NO alcohol. My mom worked at a dinner house and us kids would always love to have them with dinner. This was back in the early 60s. It was a well known kids ‘cocktail’. Hence the name ‘Shirley Temple’.

Any ST made with booze is not the original drink or intent of the drink.
