That was my first thought as well. None of Obama's initial violations of the Constitutional limits on his authority have met any opposition so far, and the gelded "Republican" led House has proved itself more impotent and irrelevant with each new breach. By their continued inaction, the Legislative and Judicial branches are forfeiting their co-equal status with an unopposed Executive - which may eventually dictate as fait accompli.
Mr. Dunn places a great deal of faith in the selfless virtue of a corrupted majority that has already breached the voluntary limits of a constitutional, representative republican government. I am less optimistic that freebie addicted voters will lose their taste for ever-increasing amounts other people's money. Until it runs out, that is, and a strongman has to restore order. Make no mistake for whom those billions of ammunition rounds are intended; they are not for foreign enemies.
My sincere question to Mr. Dunn is this: In whom resides the actual power to enforce the Constitutional limits upon a runaway President? Not the theoretical procedural authority bestowed by a piece of paper, however revered - but the sheer, brute power to enforce those limits.
Ask the citizens of Romania.
