After Boehner just turned over the vote on debt ceiling to the democrats+15 republicans, this says that “after the election” and especially if his speakership is to be overthrown, that he might well turn amnesty over to the House Democrats+15.

Here's another letter you might use as a basis for your contact with your Representative:

An open letter to the GOP Members of the House

As a Representative in Congress, you took this Oath:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

"Support and defend the Constitution" it says. Did you see that? That document requires, per Art.4, S.4, that

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence."

An invasion is what we are suffering. That invasion has accelerated with each "comprehensive immigration reform" previously enacted. Instead of another disastrous reform that yet again increases the incentives for millions more to try their luck crossing the southern border, a Representative who took his Oath and the Constitution seriously would be pressing for what the American people have repeatedly said they want - not what Senator Schumer, Mark Zuckerberg, Mexico, some border state farmers and homebuilders or the Chamber of Commerce rent-seekers want. That is:
  1. secure the border in a transparently verifiable way;
  2. end the anchor-baby interpretation of the 14th Amendment;
  3. enforce eVerify without exception and with severe penalties;
  4. no government benefits beyond critical emergency care (and that ought to be billed back to the home government); and
  5. NO "Path to Citizenship" - ever - for anyone who has entered the US illegally.
Any bill that does not accomplish these five things is unacceptable. It is de facto amnesty. And it will inevitably encourage millions more illegal entries.

If the GOP is complicit in this amnesty fiasco, either by taking up the Senate bill or through some piecemeal slight of hand with a series of House bills such as we hear are being cooked up of late, the GOP will cease to exist. It will not survive through the 2016 elections. The people will shun the over-tanned, glad-handing, backslapping quislings and look elsewhere for leaders who actually have the spine for the fight. Make no mistake - to me and to many, many others, amnesty is the GOP's Rubicon. Cross it at your electoral peril.

Sigh. I was so hoping to NOT see Trey Gowdy on that list.

Just a reminder, the House of Representatives is no longer a part of the three branches of government. Obama & the Democrats have usurped their power with damn little objection.
Now they are just there. Kinda like Parliaments in the smaller banana republics.

I'm not going to send Cory Gardner a preprinted letter, I'm going to send him this thread.

He really pissed me off about a year ago with this email:

Responding to your message

Representative Cory Gardner (CO04CGIMA@mail.house.gov)

Dear Mr. (Saxophonist),

Thank you for contacting me regarding President Obama's recent executive orders. I appreciate you taking the time to write. It is an honor to serve you in Congress and I hope you will continue to write with your thoughts and ideas on moving our country forward.

Executive orders have a long history in the United States, beginning with issuances by George Washington and continuing through every President since. In response to the recent tragedies in Connecticut, President Obama has proposed numerous executive orders aimed at curbing future violence through strict gun control. I do not agree with many of the policies announced by the President and will diligently work to overturn these misguided reactions.

While I do not agree with many of the President's policies, nor share his vision for this country, I do not believe articles of impeachment are the right course of action. It is important that conservatives remain united in the fight to uphold our 2nd Amendment and promote solutions rooted in legislative deliberation. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the House to enact legislation or pursue legal action reversing these executive orders and to protect responsible gun ownership for our citizens. Please be assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind as we consider this issue in the 113th Congress.

Again, thank you for contacting me, and do not hesitate to do so again when an issue is important to you.

Sincerely,

Cory Gardner
Member of Congress

The office of my Congressman, Tom Reed NY-23, promises me that he is opposed to amnesty. I keep warning them that whatever the House passes- the Senate will turn it into amnesty. Do NOTHING!

Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is the key. He chairs the HOR Subcommittee (of the Judiciary Committee) on Immigration.

Don Young actually flip flopped on amnesty after his pejorative comments regarding how many illegal aliens it takes on a modern farm.
Begich approached him and released a press announcement that “The Alaska delegation is united for immigration Reform”. Which is 3 people. Begich, Murkowski and Young.

Renee Ellmers had a panel on immigration with the open borders business and clergy.
