The Boy Scouts of America experienced a modest dip in membership in 2013, but not the mass exodus that some social conservatives predicted while it was considering changing its membership policy on gays. Boy Scouts membership fell by 6 percent last year, leaving it with nearly 2.5 million youth members and 960,000 adult members.

That’s what I thought. 6% in one year. And that’s not allowing for all the older scouts who may be “finishing up”, but their younger brothers won’t be joining.
The new training programs for leaders have not begun yet.
Once the leaders start leaving, you will get your mass exodus.
I would expect that many scouts who are advancing through the ranks will see it through. The question is how many are joining compared to previous years.
And that was LAST year, before the new policy became officially effective and before Trail Life USA was launched. As sodomites flex their new, militant muscles in the remade BSA, expect the decline to accelerate exponentially.

I’m still disappointed that it did not drop more than six percent.
I’m taking my 7 year-old daughter and 9 year old son winter backpacking in the Mount Cheaha-Talledega Mountian area this weekend. I’m sure not putting them into BS or GS.

My boy was just about to join when they came up with this great new plan. Needless to say, he is not a Boy Scout. My dad was an Eagle Scout, I was a scout, not my boy, though.

There’s an alternative to the Boy Scouts of today—I hope parents discover it and move their children to it and it grows in membership.
There doesn’t seem another way to protest the sodomite usurpation of the Boy Scouts.
At least, with the Girl Scouts, you can refuse to buy their cookies while explaining to them and their parents that Girl Scouts support abortion.
The Girl Scouts need an alternative organization, too.
