Same-Sex Couples From Countries Where Marriage Legal Not Allowed to Adopt

Russia banned adoptions by single people from countries where same-sex marriage is legal on Thursday, bringing the new measure into law in the middle of a Winter Olympics already steeped in controversy over Russian antigay policies.

I would never have thought that Russia was morally superior to the USA. I guess if you live long enough you’ll see everything.

We adopted our Russian son from a Kamchatka orphanage 16 years ago, when he was five. Adoption exists to meet a child's need for a father and a mother. Orphanages do not provide this; we adopted Vanya because we could provide a home in which he would benefit from developmentally important, normal, mom-and-dad role modeling and emotional attachments.

It's better than an orphanage. However, at least in an orphanage, being exposed to homosexual behavior would be regarded as an abuse. In a gay household? Not so sure.

There I am at a disadvantage. I have never watched Beck on TV, heard him on the radio, nor read him. (A hearing disability can do a lot of a girl.) Conceding that he may be a huge and on-the-nose relevant example -— could you give me another one?
