Let's just deal with the title. (but please visit the link to enjoy the unintended humor) The hand of government has descended upon our shoulders and given us permission to have rubber duck races...ain't they just marvelous? Used to be you could do what you wanted unless a law prohibited it...as opposed to the old world where you couldn't do anything unless a law permitted it. Let's all sing: If you're happy and you know it, clank your chains (Clank, Clank)...

Sadly, this is the action of our somewhat conservative Wisconsin legislature done in response to years of liberal onslaught...our side views this as a victory when really, it only demonstrates how far we have fallen.

Does Wisconsin have casinos?. If not this is first step toward gambling.

Wisconsin doesn’t have casinos...but the reservations within do.

We have casinos in several mountain towns. Other states have Indian casinos or riverboat or lakeboat casinos. Every state runs a monopoly numbers racket, the lottery. Everyone ignores the law and bets on sports. Why not just legalize gambling, so little that is left is illegal?

I have a special affinity for our fowl friends and am willing to sponsor all rubber duck acquisitions...put it on my bill. Any anti-punsters out there are welcome to watch your condemnations roll off my back like...well, you know.

"$500 on Donald to win in the second race!"

I worked with a woman who won a new car, in a rubber duck race, her name was Virginia, I don’t remember the name of the car.

“Rubber Duck” races are great ways to make money for charitable organizations. It’s done all the time. There are glitches at times.

Funny memory. A few years back our Lions Club had a local “duck race” planned. Lots of tickets sold and spectators lined both sides of the local river. Windy day! We dumped 2000 ducks into the river just about the dam, expecting the “ducks” to go over the dam and pickup speed as they rushed to the finish line. Never happened! The wind came up and literally blew almost all of the ducks UPSTREAM. (I hate when that happens). We are still finding some of the “lost ducks” every spring.

Note: About 15-20 ducks DID make it over the dam and to the finish line so the winner was happy.
