I was a right wing regional theater director and producer on the East Coast. Except perhaps for yourself no one has any idea how much PMS, crying jags, and "my boyfriend broke up with me" I had to put up with. And those were just the guys!
Mostly non work related they insisted on bringing their personal tribulations with them onto the rehearsal floor. I wanted to slap quite a few of them and strangle the worst ones.
I'm sure we would have interesting stories to swap.
The funniest one was an actor before a packed house sitting down center. He had forgotten to give his cue line for another actor's entrance. He had become entranced contemplating the hole in his shoe.
Now that's focus!
