Wendy Davis: “Politics is war” ("right?")
Star-Telegram- ^ | 2/16/14 | Anna M. Tinsley

FORT WORTH — Wendy Davis is ready for a rough road to November.

The Fort Worth Democrat said she knows her bid to become Texas’ first female governor since Ann Richards won’t be easy.

“Politics is war,” she said Friday during an interview with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Editorial Board, when asked how her gender comes into play. “I feel like I have a very legitimate candidacy.

“For the first time, I think, in a long time, people in Texas believe we have the opportunity perhaps to elect someone with a D next to their name as our executive officer in this state,” she said. “And the folks who have been in charge for the last 20 years aren’t going to give that up without a fight.

She's kidding, right? Her candidacy has been a disaster.

“Hi. I am Wendy Davis. My claim to fame is that I am a pretty good looking woman and believe that women anywhere (but especially in Texas) should be able to kill their babies at anytime and for any reason. Please vote for me this November...”

Of course, in this battle, the only casualties so far have been innocent bystanders.

Exactly. Why is she still running? I would think when a candidate is exposed as a liar and a fraud that would be the end of their career in politics. But no, evidently not because for Democrats being a liar and a fraud is perfectly acceptable. This is unreal.

If this to be a battle of wits, then Dear Wendy is only half-armed.

She does enter the room with a distinct lack of advantages. Then she goes and compounds it by throwing away what little political capital she has left by her version of “reinventing” herself.

“Politics is war”

If that's true, I'm pretty sure Republicans are the French.

Cold.

I think if the republicans and conservatives had gone to her rally at the State House in Austin carrying bricks, as her democrat supporters did, It would be more apparent through the media that the fight is hot.

"I would think when a candidate is exposed as a liar and a fraud . . ."

That pulse cheating, stealing and murder are all fair in RAT politics.

P.S.: Is it just my computer or is FReepers running kind of slow today?

another variant...

“Hi, I am Wendy Davis. My claim to fame is that I am a pretty good looking woman and that means I am also smart and capable of great things. In other words, I am completely full of myself”.

The Star-Telegram in owned and operated by out of town/out of state liberals and is a pale ghost of what it used to be when it was locally operated. They can’t even do the local news in a decent way, the only things worth reading are the obituaries and comics.

I agree. Politics is war without bloodshed. War is politics with bloodshed. People like Wendy Davis are my enemy.
