U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday called climate change perhaps the world's "most fearsome" destructive weapon and mocked those who deny its existence or question its causes, comparing them to people who insist the Earth is flat.
In a speech to Indonesian students, civic leaders and government officials, Kerry tore into climate change skeptics. He accused them of using shoddy science and scientists to delay steps needed to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases at the risk of imperiling the planet.
A day earlier, the U.S. and China announced an agreement to cooperate more closely on combating climate change. American officials hope that will help encourage others, including developing countries like Indonesia and India, to follow suit.
China and the United States are the biggest sources of emissions of carbon dioxide and other gases that cause the atmosphere to trap solar heat and alter the climate. Scientists say such changes are leading to drought, wildfires, rising sea levels, melting polar ice, plant and animal extinctions and other extreme conditions.
Also in the Jakarta speech, Kerry said everyone and every country must take responsibility for the problem and act immediately.
"We simply don't have time to let a few loud interest groups hijack the climate conversation," he said, referring to what he called "big companies" that "don't want to change and spend a lot of money" to act to reduce the risks.

Kerry - a drama queen - and a stupid one at that...
If anything is “shoddy” is was Kerry’s navigation out from An Thoi towards Cambodia, where he claimed that drunken So. Vietnamese troops shot at him and his little boat when they were celebrating Christmas.
The ARVN in the Delta were mainly Buddhists and didn’t celebrate Christmas
Secondly, there was an armed patrol boat system in place to keep American naval craft from straying into Cambodia.
Thirdly, American naval personnel down there said he didn’t go anywhere near Cambodia.
If anything from Vietnam, Kerry should have gotten the “Golden Middle Finger” medal for lying faster about “combat wounds” for a 3 and out than any other man in military history.
By the way, he went to the White House for the dinner for French President Hollande, and guess what, HIS WIFE WASN’T WITH HIM. HE WAS ALONE.
What was she doing, stomping on tomatoes to make Heinz Ketchup?
Or trying to line up TV auditions for him as Lurch in a new “Addams Family” tv show?
[Kerry is correct in one thing, the science is in and none, NONE, of the global warming predictions have occurred. NONE! Thus the global warming con is completely discredited.]
If I remember right the prognosticators of changing climate (around the 60’s or 70’s) stated absolutely for sure that the times we are in right now would be an almost unbearable cold, icy time......the opposite of Gorebull warming.

This is a statement that a Scientist does not ever make.
We as Scientists are always skeptical, and continually try to find a better test of an idea.
Global Warming, Global Cooling and Climate Change are all ideas that Politicians have used to extort tax dollars from the populations of their various Countries.
None of the three above mentioned Weather ideas has had a single, objectively testable, documented, published, Cause and Effect.
GW, GC and CC have all failed to move from junk science speculation to the higher level of a serious hypothesis.
All three weather speculations are just that: weather speculations.
No serious person still believes the global warming hoax.
In other words, Kerry is mind numbingly stupid.
So what is this gigalo doing personally to reduce his carbon foot print. Or Al Gore? Or is that the responsibility of us peasants

You are correct. During the winter of 77 as I recall the new ice age was forecast to be upon us. Someday a new ice age will be upon us. But I suspect we won’t be able to do much about it.
