MIDDLESBORO, Ky. A snake-handling pastor who appeared on the National Geographic reality television show Snake Salvation died Saturday after being bitten by a snake.
The Middlesboro Police Department said Sunday that emergency medical workers received a call around 8:30 p.m. Saturday about a snakebite at a church.
When an ambulance arrived, emergency workers were told the pastor, Jamie Coots, had been bitten and had gone home. Ambulance crew members went to his house, where Mr. Coots refused medical treatment, they said, and left around 9 p.m. They returned an hour later and found Mr. Coots dead.

My apologies for posting, but search didn’t show any. Not worth posting anything anymore anyway.
Gentlemen, playing with your snake is bad for you.
No biggie. Don’t get rattled!
It’s SO simple: the pastor was a moron.
Reminds me of the story by “Windy” Bagwell. They were singing in a church and the preacher brought out some snakes. He asked one of the members “Where’s the back door?”
“There ain’t a back door” was the reply.
“Reckon where they want one?”
Maybe they could do a game show about Russian roulette ?
Less than 10 people a year die from snake bites out of the more than 7,000 bitten each year.
This idiot pudge of flesh could have accepted the gift of the arts and science, which God made available for our discovery and its application for healing and health in our lives.
Darwin wins again ....
“Its SO simple: the pastor was a moron.”
No, he was a sadly misguided fool, that took one verse from the Bible totally out of context and built (actually he was following what others started) a “religious” practice based upon it. I find it depressingly sad, and I don’t think it is at all funny. Although I strongly disagree with the penteconstalism/charismatic movements that this is an extreme form of, I can only feel sorry that nobody with “genuine” (and unadulterated) Christianity was able to reach him. His dying is not remotely funny or something to scorn.
Headline: Frog dies from scorpion sting, both

Not surprised - this site and the code it’s built on is so antiquated I’m surprised anything works.
The irony is that these guys deny Darwin and do more to prove him right....
:)
Usually the best search is one that picks out a word or two that are likely to be in any title for the story. In this case “snake.” Try it.
Exact titles don’t work well since the same story may have different titles, but all of them will have “snake.”
Seems like your average protestant church.
I wonder what kind of snake and where he was bitten. The only snake indigenous to north america that will routinely kill an adult is the coral snake. All the others, unless you are unlucky enough to be bitten in a very vascular area or have venom injected directly into a vein, are unlikely to kill an adult. Make you real sick for a time yes, kill you no.
It was a question of belief. The pastor believed the snake wouldn’t bite him, the snake belived he would.
Just be careful with those snakes.
You live by the snake , you die by the snake!!!
As opposed to all those Catholics running with those bulls??
