George Zimmerman says he’s homeless and suffering from PTSD: report
The New York Daily News ^ | February 15, 2014 | Joel Landau

George Zimmerman says his problems continue.

He told a Spanish language television station he is now homeless, battling post-traumatic stress disorder, more than $2 million in debt and lives in fear for his life.

Zimmerman opened up on the Univision television show "Aquí y Ahora" (Here and Now) that will air Sunday on the Spanish language station at 7 p.m.

Zimmerman also discussed his well-known struggle with 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, an African-American teen who was walking in Zimmerman's neighborhood in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26, 2012.

After he called the cops, the two got into a fight that ended with Martin's death.

Zimmerman says the teen attacked him and threatened to kill him.

"He (Martin) saw my gun and told me he would kill me, and I knew he was telling the truth. I mean, was not playing," he told the station. "I asked him to stop …. And the young man did not care. Continued attacking ... I knew he would not stop even though I knew that someone had seen (the fight) and the police are coming. He did not care."

But he didn’t answer when asked if he should have waited for the cops — saying that the case is under a federal Department of Justice investigation...

“Zimmerman opened up on the Univision television...”

My first impression is that maybe this admission by Zimmerman on this channel will be a GOOD thing (PR). Perhaps airing the circumstances surrounding what I believe to be his “railroading” by the MSM will make the viewers THINK of the propaganda war against Zimmerman and the forces behind it.

I hope he survives this terrible time in his life—NOT of his own making. (wish I could buy one of his paintings...too hard to pay my own bills.)

The media should not have created this sensation in the first place as Zimmerman should have remained largely anonymous to the rest of the nation.

Sounds like his attorney(s) who vowed to clear Zimmerman’s name by suing the media after his aquittal has taken George to the proverbial cleaners.

He can have my ex-wife in Des Moines.

Apparently he did get some donations to help pay his legal bills, but nowhere near enough.

Also — how come he can’t even get Obamacare?!

“Recently he had planned to take part in a celebrity boxing match with rapper DMX but the promoter announced last week it was canceled. He is not working and lost his health insurance.”

“the case is under a federal Department of Justice investigation...”

And why is that?!

He was accused, tried and found innocent.

He is NOT seeking national attention, people just don’t leave him alone.

Violating young Master Trayvon Martin's civil rights. Unlike the people who placed a $10,000 bounty (later upped to a million dollars) on Mr. Zimmerman's head, dead or alive.

I wonder if this will cure him of his liberalism?

A misplaced period, and a missing verb have mangled my message. George should stop participating in publicity stunts which result in very negative payoff. That proposed boxing match, and those public arrests for spousal abuse real or not do not help him. Writing on my cell phone often results in punctuation errors.

George needs to get away from the cameras, find a nice quiet place out in the middle of nowhere, and, paint some more pictures. He doesn’t need media attention for a long while. It’s his best chance at resuming a “normal” life.

He keeps running toward the cameras and this sh!t is just going to keep happening.

...and has the media out to destroy him.

He should move to Iowa, change his name, marry a local, sell shoes and forget Treyvon ever existed.

He should take a long stay with his mom's relatives in Peru.

Peru would not be a good choice: NO AIR up there. Their cities are MILES high. Imagine the SMOG of their cities PLUS the dearth of air. Can't be healthy. Kind of like Mexico City (attitude 8400 feet). GASP!!

Cubbie stadium: VERY nice. The breezes off the three rivers probably cool things down during the hot summers.

Looks like a GREAT place to live.

Many good Chinese restaurants, fantastic pork tenderloin sandwiches, reasonable real estate prices and property taxes, good Christian and private schools, quite a few synagogues, lots of shopping and a major financial and insurance center with lots of jobs.

The guys never been the sharpest knife in the drawer, and he’s got $2 million in debts to deal with, you can’t put a person in a more desperate situation that this guy is in, I don’t think he will be making any reasonable decisions for a long long time.

Desperation encourages bad decisions.

Of course had he not ignored all the advice given him a night long ago, he wouldn’t have found himself in this mess either, so his bad decision making predates the desperation.

Giving interview, trying to sign up for celebrity boxing. If one wants to lead a quiet normal life step one is to be quiet. Lots of people have been involved in high profile stuff over the years and then managed to move on.
