This is understood. But if the six other primary challengers agree to back the seventh, the winner, and cast their support behind him, it shows he is strong, and that there is great opposition to Cornyn.
ANY non-Cornyn vote in the Primary could end up in a runoff. The #2 in Primary votes will be the only runoff contender.
Started off happy to finally see Stockman throw his hat in the ring only to be shortly saddened to realize he really doesn’t seem to want to be Senator and instead is just lollygagging around in his campaign.
Stovall seems to be the one who is serious about replacing Cornyn. Stovall is backed by the Tea Parties in Texas, NOT Stockman.
Even if it gives Cornyn a better chance to hold his seat?

How does a vote against Cornyn in the primary give him a better chance to hold his seat?
Explain please?
Capt. Clay said: Nope, Im goin w Stovall

Trebb, I do not understand your reasoning. How would not voting for Stockman decrease our chances of defeating Cornhole? I’m sure you mean well, and I respect Dr. Corsi. But, how well do you know Steve Stockman? If he’s in the run-off with Cornhole, I’ll vote for him. But, he’s been my Congressman both times he’s served and I’m telling you, the guy is “baggage-laden”. I’m not sure he could win the run-off election. Trust me: Cornyn and company are keeping their powder dry right now, but, if Stockman is in the run-off, Katie bar the door. A lot of ugly stuff will come out about Stockman. Also, answer this for me please.....
If Stockman will be such a great “draw” for campaign money, as Dr. Corsi says, why is he not doing so now? Where are his radio and TV commercials? All he has is a blog, e-mail addresses and Twitter. I’m wondering if “someone” in his campaign might not be pocketing the money that has come in for his campaign. Now.....
Your turn. Explain to me why you think a vote for anyone besides Stockman will lessen our chances of defeating Cornhole.
Thanks,
Din Maker
If you know anyone who is voting for John Cornyn, in the Texas GOP Primary, please remind them that the Primary Election is March 5th.
(Yes, I know the Primary is actually March 4th, but hopefully the idiot lemmings dont know that.)
Sorry if I caused any consternation. When I saw the original statement, my mind went to other elections where folks opted to back a candidate that "wasn't the one they resented being on the ticket" and the question popped to the fore. I carried the thought outside the actual boundaries and didn't take into account that in this case, it really doesn't matter who one votes for as long as it's not Cornyn as far as the primaries go. I'm unclear of what type runoff will occur if Cornyn doesn't reach the magic 50% - will it be closed to him and his nearest competitor, or is it possible for it to end up with more than 2?
At any rate, apologies to those who took it wrong - just tired of folks voting for a Virgil Goode and insuring that the Left wins again.
Thanks for the clarification. IN TEXAS: If no candidate gets 50% of the vote there will be a run-off between the top 2 vote getters only. It does not matter what their total vote is, just so they are the top 2 in the race. One could get 45% and the candidate with the second most could have 20%. That’s the two in the run-off. In the last Senate Race here in TX between Ted Cruz and Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, the well-entrenched, Establishment candidate, Dewhurst just missed getting 50% of the vote by 70,000 votes. But, in the run-off, Ted Cruz beat him by 8 percentage points.
Thank you for the info - I’m now all for those that wish to add another possibility that may be better than Stockman.
please remind them that the Primary Election is March 5th.

They would probably have to be living in a cave based upon the number of yard signs
that get place about as election day approaches.
You’d be surprised. Most yard signs do not have the date of the Primary on them.
Personally, I’m voting for Linda Vega in the Primary. A Conservative, Hispanic female who is opposed to Amnesty.
Yep, no date so they can be used in primary, runoff and general.
“I believe he has damaged himself to the point that he can not beat the Democrat in the general.”
I believe you are totally unaware of the reality of Texas politics, much less any democrat running against Cornyn. Is there one? The dem must be playing by Stockman’s campaign plan, silent running.
No dem has any chance running for Senate or Governor this year in Texas. Its Cornyn or one of the GOP Primary contenders.
