Yes, and it is time for us to be honest and identify those government policies that have lead to this and remove them branch and root. This, not government subsidies, would be the greatest anti-poverty program. We need the courage to tell this nation the truth.
But, due to political correctness and liberal media, we can’t have any honest discussion of any of this.
Remember how Dan Quayle was crucified for touching on these subjects? And he called out the Murphy Brown TV show, because that woman on that show had a baby without a husband? He was lampooned and vilified by the liberals. Due to political correctness, we’re not allowed to say that it’s bad to have children out of wedlock, and better to raise children within marriage.
Liberal thought is that it is hateful to single mothers, to say that we should not have children out of wedlock. So the discussion ends right there, as the liberals heap abuse on anyone who says anything about this.
Since Dan Quayle, I can’t think of too many politicians who have ever brought this subject up.
