An Arkansas man shot and killed a 15-year-old girl this weekend after she and other pranksters egged a car outside his house, police said.
Willie Noble, 48, of Little Rock has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Adrian Broadway, according to Little Rock Police Lt. Sidney Allen. Noble and Broadway are African American.
Noble allegedly ran out of his house and opened fire just before 1 a.m. Saturday, Allen told The Times. Broadway and a half dozen other teens had dumped a mix of eggs, mayonnaise and leaves on a car outside his home in a middle class area of southwest Little Rock, Allen said.

Call the cops on the kids. let the cops shoot them and don’t park our cars on the street anymore. More choices to consider.

If a teenager eggs my car (and does nothing more serious) I will object in various ways, but I will not physically harm the kid. Same here. It's material stuff that can be replaced. I know it sucks to have your stuff damaged, but if it was a prank then that's different than an attack to harm you. And I have had stuff stolen and damaged, including a couple cars stolen and my cars broken into. I often wonder what I would do if I caught someone in the act, and I reason with myself that I would not harm them unless they were to attempt to harm me. Things can be replaced.

Agree. And who knows who he was shooting at, her, or her possibly big, violent friend? Not me.

Girls in that age group can be some of the worst problems for the legal system to manage.

Getting religion out of American life really worked well didn’t it?Good point. No further comment as you can't try to establish moral values with folks who have animal-like minds.

It’s too bad Willie couldn’t have reached a garden hose. Soak a prankster in February and you get the message down pretty clearly.

does the guy have no rights to protect his property?
Eggs and mayo are easier to clean off than blood stains of even vandaloius teenagers, which he has on his hands.
Acts like this make responsible gun owners who truly shoot to preserve life and limb look like trigger-happy gun nuts of which I don't wish to be lumped with...

....there comes a time when people have to stand up for their rights and demand stricture punishment for property crimes.
So in effect you are supporting the death penalty for...halloween pranks and property thief.
Just WOW.....

I know I’m probably the only FReeper who ever egged a car as a teenager —
I was BOTH the perpetrator and victim of car eggings and neither times was my first reaction to kill the snot nosed little bastards.
Curse, yes.Violence, no.
Chalked it up to youth and "Karma"and got out the hose, soap and washed and waxed it off...
Crap happens...

Well... There are a lot of neighborhoods where parking the car on the street is the only option, and the cops would not show up in an hour - if then.
My brother’s wife’s small restaurant in CA had refrigeration units (probably the compressors, I think) stolen off the roof. Granted, the crime was past once reported, but the cops came out... on bicycles — they told my brother & his wife there was nothing they could do. They did not even bother to search for any evidence. This in a “decent” neighborhood.
In the case of this shooting, though, I am mostly “with you”. And something ignored by all the posters so far is that MOST people would have insurance on a car that would cover such damage. So we are probably talking about a $200 or $500 deductible at most, plus some time and trouble. But, even if one was dumb enough to not have “comprehensive” coverage on a car they valued, ok then, let’s say a new paint job costs $4000.
I understand the “property” argument, and the sense of being violated when someone takes or damages property one has worked hard for, but is it ok to kill someone over $4000.00?
Of course not.
For cases like this article, the law DOES need to allow for an intermediate response. A shot or two with a 12 ga., in the air, preferably with blanks, would be one idea. The “skunk odor” paintballs works for me, too. Just don’t hit any of your neighbors’ cars... :-)

“An armed society is a polite society’, but judging from most of the responses here, few really mean it.”
So you side with the vandals? Nice.
Ask yourself this: when was civility transgressed and by whom? And when was civility restored, and by whom?
Shooting a vandal who is damaging your property after dark supports both civility and a polite society. Deal with it. Boo-frickin-hooo.
Shooting tresspassers and vandals used to be how peace and civility were guranteed in America until the advent of the Nanny State. Read some frickin US history before posting why don’t you?
If AR has a castle doctrine he walks.

there’s stuff in the egg that eats into the paint, and the eggshells scratch through paint into metal.
Uuuuh no, and yes.
My brother is an auto body repair man and he said there's nothing in the egg that will "eat the paint" but the stuff people use and the way people clean their egged cars often does. The egg has proteins and other elements that can "bond" with the paint but this takes time.
Bird droppings, however DO have have a highly acidic element that can eat through both the finish, paint and leaves the surface, over time, exposed to moisture and thus rust..
The eggshells can scratch the paint job but it's usually the car owners scrubbing the egg, shell and all, off with a old household rag rather than carefully picking them off with finger that does the most deep damage.
After removing shells hose off the car with plain water. If the egg has harden especially in the hot sun for longer period, or leaves an stain, mix an equal part of white vinegar and(kitchen)ammonia, soak a soft washcloth (a microfiber cloth is best) with the mix and hold it against the egg until it begins to soften. Repeat as necessary then rinse with water. Buffing may be needed for any remaining stains and light shell scratches.
Stucco isn't common here so I have no idea what is proper handling of it.....

You show up at my house in the middle of the night and I catch you good thing will not happen. The castle law in Texas permits you to shoot anyone illegally on your property after dark without criminal prosecution. I personally would not intend to kill a person for egging my house but some times my aim could be off.

Everyone loves to quote the old cliché ‘An armed society is a polite society’, but judging from most of the responses here, few really mean it. An armed society becomes a polite society through the process of rude fools being killed off.
