Don’t know if or when he will remember to write or call his mother. At 21 he may be more interested in his ‘honey’ in Louisiana. 8^) He is a good young man.Yeah, it's hard when mom becomes the second woman. LOL
Actually, they keep them so busy they usually don't have time. At some point, THEY make them write home.

We spent the day at Paris Island in September. It is a beautiful island.
The museum was nice with articles from all the wars and not so wars where Marines have deployed.
The grounds are immaculate. It seems a little sterile. The buildings and the various training areas resemble college athletic practice grounds rather than those for the finest fighting force in the world.

They crawled all over you - in the ears, eyes, nose, down your collar and up your cuffs.
And you dare not swat, move, twitch, snort, blow or blink.
