The president issued an executive order last week purporting to raise the minimum wage for employees of federal contractors to $10.10 an hour. The order is unconstitutional.
The Supreme Court made clear in Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. v. Sawyer that the Presidents power, if any, to issue the [executive] order must stem either from an act of Congress or from the Constitution itself. Furthermore, when the president takes measures incompatible with the expressed or implied will of Congress, his power is at its lowest ebb, for then he can rely only upon his own constitutional powers minus any constitutional powers of Congress over the matter.

Who’s going to stop him?
I think an easier and shorter list would be to name the things Obama’s done that ARE constitutional.
Next!
A book of blank pages?
Raise in Federal Minimum Wage? Who is footing the bill?
His little decrees seem intentionally devastating.
The one about fuel efficiency for heavy trucks is gonna hurt everyone. Modern tractor trailers are already at the balance point of efficiency/effectiveness. Greater fuel efficiency will come at the expense of cargo carried.
No one, that is why he keeps doing it. It will get worse, count on it. I just wonder when he will sign the executive order, putting us in the camps? After a successful gun grab.
They already require you pay a “prevailing wage” on government contracts so this is all just smoke and mirrors that the idiots who voted for him think means they suddenly get $10 an hour~ They half listen to what is being said and only understand another half of that at best.
I learned a long time ago, in another life, that the successful shoplifter LOOKS like he's shopping.
zero doesn't care if he's constitutional or not ... the only ones pulling his coat to the fact is the alternative media ... not the lamestream.
Only if more people patronize our sites will the public catch on
>> Whos going to stop him?
No one. And if they try Boehner will attack them.
Not Congress. The GOP is too cowed to do anything and the Rats are writing more unconstitutional EOs for him.
I have come to believe the President knows full that he may be beyond his limits with EO’s.
He doesn’t care because it is a win win for him. If there is no constitutional law suit before the SCOTUS he wins
If the SCOTUS rules against him, he wins by blaming them.
Regardless of what really happens, he wins with his wacko base.
whatever do you mean by that....he TAUGHT constitutional law didn't he? /s
The GOP is now the BOP (bend over party).
When it comes to trampling the Bill of Rights, Obama is systematically destructive:
- destroying religious freedom and freedom of association (religious objections to paying for birth control and religious/moral/personal objections to providing personal artistic services such as "wedding" photography and "wedding" cakes in situations that the artist finds repulsive - 1st Amendment),
- trampling the right to keep and bear arms (2nd Amendment),
- the NSA's massive collection of data without probable cause (4th Amendment),
- searching for federal charges when state trials don't give the politically correct verdict (pushing the limits of double jeopardy - 5th Amendment; no fact tried by a jury shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States - 7th Amendment),
- tainting potential juries by commenting on numerous public criminal cases such as George Zimmerman (trial by an impartial jury - 6th Amendment),
- the excessive ObamaCare fines (8th Amendment),
- and the massive expansion of FedGov well outside the Enumerated Powers (9th and 10th Amendments).
That's just the Bill of Rights, without listing all his violations of the rest of the Constitution. Given what we've seen, I don't think Obama or his supporters care about violating the Constitution. That's sad because a later president may use the precedent to do even more terrible things, perhaps crossing the line into pure evil far enough to concern even the liberals.
How about impeach him for abuse of power? Doesn’t that mean anything anymore?
Is there any actual proof out there that he actually taught constitutional law?
yes, it is unconstitutional... but we no longer have a constitution so what’s your beef?
