The president declaring unconstitutional law, the congress does not impeach or stop him, and the Supreme Court fails to declare his actions null and void. All three branches of Government have now failed. Our founding fathers told us this day might come and gave us advice on what to do about it.
Most likely unconstitutional, but so is a lot of what every occupant of the white house does. Impeachment should probably happen at least once for every one of them.
But beyond that, this only applies to companies with government contracts, correct? So am I supposed to feel sorry for the poor, poor bastards running those companies who chose to get into bed with Leviathan? I hope it bankrupts every damned one of them.
There's an even bigger problem with raising the so-called national minimum wage than Obama's constitutionally indefensible orders imo. More specifically, even if Obama had Congress's legislative support to raise the national minimum wage, please consider the following.
With the exception of the federal entities indicated in the Constitution's Clauses 16 & 17 of Section 8 of Article I as examples, entities which are under the exclusive legislative control of Congress, it remains that the states have never delegated to Congress the specific power to regulate a national minimum wage. It is solely up to the individual states to decide minimum wages for intrastate labor. So Obama is actually using constitutionally indefensible executive orders to usurp legislative powers that Congress doesn't have.
On the other hand, should the states ultimately decide that it would be best for Congress to regulate a national minimum wage, then the states can always amend the Constitution to delegate to the feds the specific power to do so.
Otherwise, all that the so-called national minimum wage amounts to is another example of how corrupt Congress has been taking advantage of low-information citizens to help win their votes for the last several decades.
I am getting very tired of reading about how everything Obama does is unconstitutional.
What difference, at this point, does it make????
No one will stop him!!!
You’re right.
This is the breach with the past that ushers in the epoch of change.
The the word authoritarian is batted around a lot, but I tend not to agree. I believe what we are seeing is in fact recrudescent totalitarianism but in a new form unlike one the world has ever seen before. I am referring to it as neorelativism.
Singapore-Style Multiculturalism + America-Style Democracy (Liberal Democracy) = Neorelativism
The ethos of Neorelativism is totalitarian in nature.
Totalitarianism... just in another form.
Gee, I wish the Republicans in the House had “standing” to sue him.......
means nothing if we can’t remove him. we don’t even have people who will impeach. half don’t terribly mind what he’s doing or the precedents he’s setting.
There, fixed it.
