A coalition of Chicago public sector unions resistant to a push by Mayor Rahm Emanuel for changes to the pension system released a report Monday that concluded that the city should focus on new or higher taxes instead of significant cuts to benefits.
The We Are One Chicago group contended that cutting pension benefits would send negative economic ripples through the city and suburbs where retired Chicago Public Schools and city workers live.
The impacts of pension benefit cuts would hit women and people of color in disproportionate numbers and in turn hurt the economies in the city’s African American communities, concluded the study, which was dubbed “The Great Chicago Pension Caper: Neighborhood Destabilization in an Age of Austerity.”

A question for anyone and everyone that keeps demanding higher taxes.
At what percentage of a person’s income is there too much in taxes being taken?
At what percentage of a person’s wealth, (property, savings, etc.), Has too much been taken away through taxes?
My personal belief is that the people who keep calling for the raising of taxes think it is at 100% percent in both categories. And then they’ll just move on to the next generation(s) and just make them tax-slaves from birth onward.

Why I would never live in Chicago at the time I lived in Indiana. In fact went to Chicago several times and got parking tickets and didn’t pay them and got nasty letters to pay or else. Didn’t pay them and eventually they backed off but they turned them over to credit agencies. I don’t borrow money anyways, no affect !
When in financial trouble, don’t cut costs. Just look for more people to loot from.
Biden Illinois-bound to tout stimulus milestone

GRANITE CITY — Vice President Joe Biden is making an appearance in southwestern Illinois as he touts the merits of the federal stimulus package enacted five years ago.
Biden is scheduled to appear with U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx at noon on Wednesday at the America’s Central Port near Granite City, northeast of St. Louis. He’s expected to also highlight what he calls the need for more infrastructure spending.
It’s been a half decade since President Barack Obama signed the $787 billion spending bill called the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The White House says that measure boosted the U.S. economy and helped avoid another Great Depression.
Republican leaders in Congress counter that the bill spent too much for too little in return.

People of color have brown hair and brown eyes. Caucasians have multiple eye colors from blue to green, and multiple hair colors from blonde to red. Now you know why they call them people of color.
