Quantity is not necessarily quality. For example, take the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate in Texas.
There are eight candidates for the GOP spot (and five more on the Democratic side).
Combined, thats 13 candidates, but only one has the experience and track record that best reflects the states conservative values and that is the incumbent, Sen. John Cornyn.
Cornyn, the Senate Minority Whip first elected to the Senate in 2002, is the logical choice from a field of mostly nondescript (and some might say extreme) candidates.
Cornyn has a history of support for the Second Amendment (primarily the constitutional right of the people to keep and bear arms) and has railed against the federal government takeover of health care, not to mention Uncle Sams disdain for any semblance of sanity when it comes to spending taxpayer money.
Speaking of Obamacare, Cornyn said in September: The only way to effectively stop Obamacare is to dismantle it entirely.

Cornyn has a history of being a weasel, like Mitch.
I guess his conservative record doesn’t count — let’s all rally conservatives around some unelectable nobody to have the Dems take over a reliable Republican seat! (/sarc)
How Liberal Is Sen. Cornyn?

“The fact is, however, that Cornyn was rated the second most conservative of all incumbent U.S. senators by the nonpartisan National Journal, based on his voting record in the last Congress, which sat during 2011 and 2012.”
cornholio is a liar, a cheater and a thief.
Maybe they meant that McCain is the #1 in need of PREservative?
National Journ-O-listas.
John Cornyn claims to be the 2nd most conservative member of the Senate. Yet, as Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, he hand-selected these "Republican" candidates:
Also, when he had a chance to stop ObamaCare by supporting Ted Cruz' filibuster and hid behind a meaningless vote later. He pulled the same trick on the Senate amnesty bill and again on raising the debt limit. |

Works for me!
so he can SAY that he wants to stop ObamaCare BUT what he DOES is stop republican senators from stopping Dems from voting Obamacare in.
In November 2009, then-Sen. Jim DeMint laid out the Democrats' strategy. They would call for a motion to proceed on unrelated legislation. Then, if 60 senators agreed, Harry Reid would strip out the original bill, insert Obamacare in its place and send it for final passage, which required just 50 votes - and which Democrats could achieve with a party-line vote.
That way, Republicans and Democrats could vote for the motion to proceed, which would enable Obamacare to become law, without actually voting for Obamacare.
DeMint also had a strategy to stop them. He knew Christmas vacation was coming, senators could smell the jet fuel, and they wanted to get out of town. So he worked to gum up the works...Obstruct & Object to delay the vote until after Christmas vacation when Democratic senators up for re-election would feel pressure from voters to "Kill the Bill."
They would oppose the motion to proceed. They would force the entire 757-page amendment from Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders to be read on the Senate floor, and the overall 2,000-page bill after that.
Everybody from Rush Limbaugh on the right to then-RNC head Michael Steele on the less-right, agreed this was the way to go. But not John Cornyn.
JOHN CORNYN sent a memo to EVERY GOP senator that said they should cooperate with Harry Reid, vote for the motion to proceed and let Obamacare pass.
RE-READ THAT LAST PARAGRAPH! We have Obamacare because of Cornyn.
AND THEN... he said they would fight the debt ceiling and we just saw how Cornyn rather than fight for us against the dems will fight Cruz when Cruz fights the dems.
Cornyn rolled over and because of him our other republicans didn't fight for the debt ceiling to not be raised higher. Go ahead and screw the taxpayers because it is only over 1 Trillion or 6 trillion or whatever. It is just money.
