Obama’s green energy benefactor plans $100 million midterm push

Want to know why the president and his team are stampeding to talk about global warming despite increasing public disinterest in the topic, a bitterly cold and snowy winter and deepening skepticism about the costs of clamping down on industry as the economy again falters? It turns out that money talks. From the NYT: “A billionaire retired investor is forging plans to spend as much as $100 million during the 2014 election, seeking to pressure federal and state officials to enact climate change measures through a hard-edge campaign of attack ads against governors and lawmakers. The donor, Tom Steyer, a Democrat who founded one of the world’s most successful hedge funds, burst onto the national political scene during last year’s elections, when he spent $11 million to help elect Terry McAuliffe governor of Virginia and millions more intervening in a Democratic congressional primary in Massachusetts. Now he is rallying other deep-pocketed donors, seeking to build a war chest that would make his political organization, NextGen Climate Action, among the largest outside groups in the country, similar in scale to the conservative political network overseen by Charles and David Koch.”

[National Journal: “Tom Steyer … may launch an advertising campaign panning [Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La.] for supporting the Keystone XL pipeline. The three-term senator seeking reelection in a state much redder than it was six years ago says Steyer’s criticism could actually help her win. ]

When I got my MBA I studied a marketing professor who developed an equation that said if you put x dollars into advertising you’d get Y dollars profit. It didn’t matter what the product was. He took it to a company and to prove it he said they’d sell rocks. So, they put x dollars in and got Y dollars profit. Don’t believe me? Remember the Pet Rock? That was the experiment. If memory serves they made $4 million dollars.

So, if you put x dollars into an election you can elect a corpse; or possibly Hillary Clinton.

I expect that unless somebody spends $100 million to counter this money we’re all going to live in a global warming hell. (Which is economic, not thermal.)

Just imagine what the MSM would be doing if one wealthy Republican donor offered a Republican President a $100 million dollar “political donation” as long as he did the one thing he wanted. Obama will take the money, kill the pipeline and golf in some far off location without answering one question from the crack White House press corp.

That millionaire must be pretty dense if he wastes his money promoting the Climate Change Scam, unless he’s a carbon credit profiteer.

It begs the question:

“If you’re so rich, how come you’re not smart?”

This once moral and powerful country has turned into a banana republic.

30 years ago, who would have imagined what we have become?

The only thing you need to do to convince LIV that Globull Warming is not good for us is tell them to multiply their current Electric Bill by 1.8

Then explain that Obama’s own people testified to Congress that that is what the added costs of energy production is when you outlaw Coal fueled Power Plants will mean on the wholesale market.

Even the dullest of the bulbs in the Obama Cartoon understand the meaning of electric bills they can’t afford to pay.

Guys like him dont pour 100 million into anything unless they think theyre going to get their money back with interest. He Probably sees a pit of gold in this global warming scam and is trying to grab a piece of it for himself.

$100 million won’t do shit. The socialist democrats have spent $70,000,000,000 on false spin, manipulated and cherry picked data and are still losing the war.

You are absolutely right. He may be taking a bit of a risk, but he sees the huge reward that he will reap if it pays off. It’s all about the money, follow the money.
