People are hyping the Tea Party threat to Texas Sen. John Cornyn. The truth is these grassroots conservatives dont have a chance.
HOUSTONA pattern was beginning to emerge: Sen. John Cornyn entering a room and discovering people who sound much more conservative than he sounds. On Tuesday morning, shortly after early voting began in his primary, the senior senator from Texas rolled into the offices of a local courier service to accept an endorsement from the National Federation of Independent Businesses. He shook hands and took his place at a table of job creators, asking them for ideas to bring back to Washington, apologizing for what the city had wrought.
What I regret is that the federal government, instead of facilitating what you doencouraging it, incentivizing itis doing the opposite, said Cornyn. [Former Sen.] Phil Gramm used to talk about doing the Lords work in the devils city. Sometimes I think its like a forward operating base in hostile territory.
Will Newton, the well-attired executive director of the NFIB in Texas, went with it. One of the old leaders of the NFIB in Washington is famous for saying that he considered Washington, D.C., a work-free drug zone, he said.
Everyone broke out laughing. So did Cornyn. A little while later, a trucking company owner named Darrin Forse went on a tear.
You get people to come in and apply for jobs, said Forse. First thing they ask is, Whats it gonna pay? The governments giving them whatever they want anyway. A lot of them come up and sign a card and say, OK, I can get another free check and whatever else. Thats whats happened. Theyre getting their insurance for nothing, and here we are, the working people.

My wife and I did our part in voting against Cornyn today.
Need others to chip in to
What was David Weigel saying about Ted Cruz 2 years ago?
God speed Texas conservatives! Send Cornyn into a run-off.
I got a call from Farm Bureau wanting me to vote for Cornyn. You may want to reconsider if they need your money.
Ted Cruz has climbed 6 points to 18% in a new poll,

The day after corn hole voted to end the Cruz filibuster, I called his Austin office and left an irate message on his voicemail.
I was still mad the following day, I called back and talked to staff member and told her I couldn’t wait until the 18th to cast a vote against him.
I did the same, both email and calling, but did it before the vote.
His staffer begain by offering excuses to me but I cut her off and told her in simple terms that I expected Cornyn to support his fellow Senator by standing up against raising spending. If he didn’t I would be very, very disappointed
I also educated my two kids and their spouses on who to not vote for.
FYI to Freepers in Kaufman County:
Early voting will ONLY use the electronic machines. You will NOT have choice of paper or electronic during early voting.
On Primary Day, March 4th, ONLY PAPER ballots will be used. If you can, please VOTE ON MARCH 4TH- PAPER BALLOTS LEAVE A PAPER TRAIL.
Say thank you to our local GOPe Republicans.
Even if Cornyn wins maybe he will hear the Conservative Message loud and clear—maybe he will vote for Tea Party issues. I can hope! We must bring out the vote! The more people cast a ballot the more Texas Conservatives will be in their ranks. How will John C. vote when Texas leaves the Union? How will he vote when our money is worthless? How will he vote in the dark after an Iranian Nuke blows out the lights? At his core—he’s an American and will do the right thing. He just needs to be reminded. Till then—Vote Tea Party!
If he wins, the message will be he can disregard the Tea Party issues and still get elected.
As long as he pretends to be conservative on the big votes, and help big government on the procedural votes, he can keep his RINO place in history.
