I am not going to buy that line again

Georgia's not a state where Freeper votes matter. We can rant and rave, but ultimately, the election will be decided in the Rust Belt union states by blue collar whites who don't see what the free trade, open immigration and SS and Medicare cuts espoused by the GOP will do for them. Until Paul Ryan and his ilk are turfed from the GOP via crushing primary defeats, we will continue losing the White House.

It isn't often that I disagree with Sowell. Make that, this is the first time. The nation may not survive if the Republicans other than Cruz and a tiny handful of others don't make a principled stand.

The problem is, if the Republicans win this November, which of our current "leaders" will the one(s) to stand up?

Boehner? Is this stand up comedy?

We have a litany of non leaders there.

Sowell seems to have a point here, that the constitutional ideals are being turned to mincemeat.

This is one more step in a process that both Democrats and Republicans have had their fingers deep into. To debate it at the level of party is simply to lose.

And God well knows it. God would rather we forget for a moment what a mincemeat the US constitution has become, and look at what a mincemeat we have made out of His own will, especially as framed in the gospel.

That’s the only thing that is going to reframe sanity for us. A second shooting-war American Revolution is not in any reasonable person’s cards (and even the first one had the happy circumstance of a New World full of various fervent Christian denominations who had come to it to get away from the fuddy duddy opposition of the Old World).

Sowell is a pretty good secular philosopher. But I think he needs some “cruz” control too. As in the Cross of Christ. And we can’t force it on him. He’ll have to accept it himself.
