An Affordable Housing Project Faces Opposition in Wealthy Chappaqua
The New York Times ^ | 02/17/2014 | Joseph Berger

Posted on 02/20/2014 6:05:10 AM PST by polstar123

"It's important to introduce children to diversity so they grow up knowing these people are just like us, no different."

The project would allow Chappaqua, where 91 percent of the residents are white, to contribute to a desegregation settlement Westchester County reached in 2009 that is being overseen by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development...The county is required to aggressively market those apartments to nonwhites.

Typical government social engineering so some of these people can be handed crumbs of privilege but never allowed to work their way to achieve it like the 'us people' AND 'these people' who did earn it. Why is this an issue of race? This is a community that welcomes all sorts of people who earn their way there- white people, black people, purple people, even the Clintons.

Ha haaaaaa!!!

Never happen. Not as long as the Clintons live there.

Just like there will never be windmill farms on Martha's Vineyard.

One can hear the HillaBeast screaming, “How dare they propose ‘Take in the trash’ where I live!”

Ironically, the developer found a place on the other side of the Railroad Tracks.

“It’s important to introduce children to diversity so they grow up knowing these people are just like us, no different.”

Rhetoric only. Liberals only say this, they don’t believe it. Don’t listen to what they say—watch what the do and the effect of their policies.

Black community doesn’t have to accept Trader Joes, so why does a white community have to accept “affordable housing”?

Not exactly the same, of course, but still...the idea of changing the community was reason enough to protest the Trader Joe’s store...

Here’s some info on this Westchester county deal:

“And I love blacks and gays and latinos, as long as they don’t live next door. So love me, love me, love me, I’m a liberal” -— Jello Biafra, Dead Kennedys

Pretty much nailed it.

Oh, this housing will go up in Chappaqua because the Clintons couldn't care less. Do you think their neighborhood will be affected? Or that any criminal will get close to their house? Do they have to worry about the quality of the local public school? Does their property value there matter all that much to them, in light of how many tens of millions Slick Willie has made since leaving the White House? The answer to all these questions is, “No”.

Interesting point. Hadn't thought of that.

Also, by bringing trailer park trash for SS agents to drag hundred dollar bills through closer to home, it will be easier for the agents to keep Bill entertained while Hillary is out on the campaign trail.

Coming to an area near you. The Feds have been very aggressive in pushing these kinds of developments on neighborhoods across the nation.

The idea is that more affluent communities should ‘welcome’ the opportunity to host a more diverse residents in order to provide them a role model. The newer, poorer, residents will see how the more affluent live and will come to understand that if they pattern their lives after the affluent, then they will leave behind their lives of welfare dependency, crime, and poverty. The will see a new way of life were people leave their homes and commute to their jobs where they earn a very good living.

Actually, the idea does have promise in improving the lives of the more diverse populations moving into these more affluent areas. Once the more affluent leave for work, the new more diverse residents also leave their subsidized housing for their chosen career of breaking and entering into their neighbors homes where they find all sorts of easily stolen merchandise which can be easily and quickly fenced thus improving their lifestyles.

The other idea is that once the more affluent come to know their newer and more diverse neighbors, they will see how difficult their lives are and will support more welfare and wealth redistribution schemes especially if these schemes do not improve the diversity of their neighborhoods.

BTW, do not attempt to thwart these schemes. The feds have been known to take persons organizing against the plans to court citing their opposition as a violation of the civil rights of the more diverse. Some of the more affluent have used their constitutional rights of freedom of speech and the right to petition their government as a defense. The feds have told those using these as a defense that these rights do not hold, they are superseded by the rights of the more diverse under federal law.

It is only White areas that have ‘diversity’ forced upon them at bayonet point. Nobody is forcing Whites into black or hispanic neighborhoods.

Hillary will come out in support of it. She’ll champion it from every venue she can find.

Then they will move.

Nobody is forcing whites into black or hispanic neighborhoods.

It was tried with busing. It didn't work. Instead, white parents left their established urban neighborhoods. And with busing the black students who wanted to excel went to the "better" neighborhood schools. The result is that you have inner city schools that have never been as all-black or as under performing as they are now.

So what's the response? The idiots in charge are closing those under performing inner city schools and busing all of the kids out of the neighborhood. It causes a total destruction of the neighborhood, as the school was the last place left that had neighborhood focus.

So now, you've got to do something with those abandoned minorities in the inner city. Next brilliant idea....move them to the 'burbs into low-income developments.

No wonder the wealthy elite have spare houses in gated mountain communities and on islands.

My schadenfreude meter is pinging.

I’m always entertained by liberals getting a case of NIMBY when suddenly the unwashed masses gain a foothold in their tidy little surroundings.

This crap makes me sick. NOBODY is keeping these people out. The people who live here would gladly welcome any family: black, white, asian, latino, whatever. Just get a mortgage, move in, and act like civilized members of society.

If the “diversed” people want to live here, nobody is stopping them. All they have to do is get a job... start living like a civilzed person... make decent choices... WORK HARD and they can live wherever they want.

Liberals make me sick with all this ‘diversity’ horsecrap. They say that our communities need to be diverse so the children will think everyone is the same.
Guess what?! People are NOT the same. Thats life. Some people are productive citizens, some people are social parasites.
And YES... the productive citizens ARE BETTER people.
