They should have thanked her for the gesture and paid for their own meals themselves as they make a lot more money than she does anyway.

I was thinking the same thing. Unless things are different where these folks live, most public safety workers have lavish salaries, pensions and other benefits. Absolutely insane how many low-earning private sector folks seem to view cops and firefighters as in need of their charity.

In the article, it says that the firefighters thought that it was the company providing the food.

In the article, it says that they only learned that SHE paid for it later.

In the article, it says that they called up the boss and complained to him, because they thought the boss had made her pay for it.

Does that clear it up?

I would think the city would be paying for their meals.

Years ago a cop told me he stopped a girl for speeding. She was in her McDonald’s uniform. The first words out of her mouth were “You know we give you free hamburgers.”

They do this all the time. Firefighters are so overpaid and common folk still bring donuts, and every considerable food items or coffee daily.

It is a can of bees, but like cops, they get all they can get.
