What denomination? I ran into some Mormons at a subway station not far from the Maidan back in November.

Non-denominational.

The station is irrelevant.

Listen to what this woman says. Her words are the story, not who broadcast them.

“To die fighting is better than to die running away.”

Somebody call the golf course and tell Obozo what’s going on.

Things were not so good there for missionaries before all of this mess.

Actually, in Ukraine, the church is vibrant and growing. Ukrainians are a people who deeply want the freedoms that our forefathers fought for.

And that I hope we can keep. Will we stand as tall as they are in the face of oppression?

I know some missionaries there. They have to put up with a lot of bureaucratic BS.

You’re right. They do. But compared to their years under Soviet control, it is better.

My comments, by the way, stem from a recent visit to our local church by a Ukranian missionary whom we support and who has been working there since independence. His first-person account of the protests that started in November was riveting. This was two weeks ago, before the current violence began.

If the church is vibrant and growing in the Ukraine, why would they want anything to do with the corrupt, socialistic, atheistic European Union? Russia is now a Christian nation with wholesome values are they not?

I have a disconnect in this Ukrainian event. There is something wrong with this picture.

Because the story really isn’t about Europe vs. Russia. This is a copied post from a missionary who has worked in the Ukraine since its independence. Posted this morning, after the latest truce:

“AMERICAN FRIENDS - Do not take the glowing, exciting news of Ukraine’s President announcing early elections as good news. Fox News and other outlets are reporting this as a triumph...it is not. Do you understand that if early elections are held, he is still President and he can still have his name on the ballot and he can still rig the election like he did the last time he was “democratically” elected. This is what this revolution is about, not the EU vs Russia stuff the USA media is reporting. The people want this coward and heinous man out of office and in prison!!! I am FED UP with the naive and stupid US news media who reports anything to do with democracy as a sweet and cheery thing! Democracy is hard to attain and it doesnt come overnight. Wake up and smell the coffee before believing US media reports on Ukraine!”
