“May I introduce you to the folks who made Detroit what it is today?”
The UAW (U Ain’t Workin’) is going to keep on revisiting this scene, first with the NLRB, then with repeated attempts to change the vote totals or somehow make the ones who voted against union representation publically shamed.
Eventually VW will exit the US manufacturing facilities, and concentrate assembly in Mexico and Brazil, where the relationships with labor unions is more ‘progressive’ (whatever that means).
I suspect that Henry Ford, when he unilaterally raised the wages of the workers in the Ford manufacturing plant, did more for the worker that all the unions combined since!
My family NEVER recovered the loss in income as a result of being out of work during strikes. The union bosses always did well.
It ain’t over till it’s over.
I have the sneaking feeling that the UAW, the Democrats, and even the Germans running VW aren’t gonna take “no” for an answer.
This outcome is a great preview of what’s coming in the November elections.
:):):):)
Why is VW so supportive of unions? What to they get out of it?
Not only that, the UAW is these days a front arm for the democrats. East Tennessee has been Republican for 150 years.

Even a horse with a bridle & saddle in place knows how to buck.
I have a coming 30 year old mare who can regularly kick up her heels.
American workers today don’t want to support a union which spends money on policies which hurt the same worker at the consumer locations they use.
When you cannot win even when the company itself is supporting you......
My first experience with unions was with the Teamsters and an affiliated union where I worked my first job and the union steward who would agitate, undermine, backstab everyone. Only the top union officials made out.
