A rump band of Beltway conservatives has seen the enemy and it is not Harry Reid. It is Mitch McConnell, whose scalp is apparently worth blowing yet another shot at a Republican Senate majority.
There's a new dividing line in the conservative movement—between a majority who'd like to win against President Obama, and a handful who'd like to win some scalps. It was on vivid display last week during the Senate debt-ceiling vote. Republicans were looking to avoid a fight they were destined to lose. Democrats had the votes to pass the bill with a simple majority, meaning they also would have owned their president's refusal to tackle the debt.
In walked Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to demand a 60-vote majority to pass the increase. Mr. Cruz has subsequently claimed he alone was attempting to get Mr. Obama to agree to spending reforms. Odd, given that he didn't publicly present any reforms to attach to the debt bill. He didn't take to the floor to escalate the issue. To the contrary, he agreed to speed up the vote.
There was only one point to Mr. Cruz's action: To force Republican colleagues, in particular Mr. McConnell, into voting "yes" to proceed to the actual bill. Mr. Cruz has admitted as much, bragging to radio host Mark Levin the next day that his colleagues' "heads exploded" because he'd "forced" them to "tell the truth"—namely, that they "wanted" to give Barack Obama a "blank check to raise our debt." Never mind that every Republican, once past the Cruz show vote, opposed the increase on final passage.

Believe it or not, you GOPe parasites, there are not enough millionaires to win Republican seats in the Senate. We know that the only thing you wsj types care about is protecting your stash from higher taxes. The vast majority of voters have far more serious concerns: freedom, integrity of our government officials, the survival of our Middle Class families.
The Republican Party has been worthless as a vehicle for righting this sinking ship, no matter how hard the elitists want to turn up the music to drown out the screams.
I just read this article too. So dumb! All they see is “senate majority, senate majority” so they love people like Mike Castle, Arlen Specter and Lisa Murkowski because they have R’s next to their names.
But note that she doesn’t openly berate Richard Lugar for endorsing the democrat in Georgia, or John Warner who endorsed the democrat in Virginia. Are not these republicans also “preventing a republican majority??”
Oh nooooo. Because both Lugar and Warner are doing the Lord’s work, that is, helping democrats, as all moderate republicans do.
The real agenda of the establishment of both parties is to prevent conservatives from getting into office, because as Cruz has demonstrated, conservatives tear their world asunder and shine a light on the charade.

Ted Cruz is trying to do what Barry Goldwater attempted to do a couple of generations ago, instill a sense of conscience in the Republican Party. But the establishment do not seem to want this enhancement, and they fight the rebukes Senator Cruz sent their way tooth and claw. Those who will not accept constructive criticism are destined, doomed, to fail.
These dinosaurs may make the landing soft, or hard. Their choice.

That you and your ilk want to keep lying is the problem, not Ted Cruz or us REAL conservatives. Basically, Ted and we are saying “if you want to lie to your constituents don’t include me or us”.
If you want to disguise lying and call it “parliamentary voting tactics” or something else, we won’t play that game either.

If Mc Connell gets reelected and the Republicans get the Majority, Cruz will be lucky to get a seat on the Public Sanitation Committee.

There once was a time when the WSJ was excellent, but that time has long since passed.
My friends: She is telling the truth on Mr. Bevin. I’m worried that our momentum can be used against us thru our known instances of stupidity. Right now I think Kentucky is lost. McConnell loses to the democrat and Bevin implodes by creating a bit of doubt about his true record.
The GOP has the majority in the House.
Spending is on its way up and as of now our kids each owe $250,000.00 on it, and that’s before their average $20,000.00 college debt, $10,000.00 per year Obamacare obligation, declining 77 % labor participation rate, 12% unemployment rate.
Congress is in charge of spending.
If they want to continue to blame Obama, they are offering him all the power they have.
If our guys had come back from Europe and reported that, because Hitler was a dictator and was ridiculing them in public, they had to let him have everything he wanted.
We’d have been right to say, forget funding the military, it’s of no use.
These concepts are so simple. What does the Wall Street Journal miss, in the arena of common sense?
The congress is responsible for this debt, for allowing Obama to continue lawlessly.

The slight minority senate had the power last week, in the to make a statement about Obama’s out of control spending. They acted like retreating cowards.
There is no one who even dreams that if they were in the majority they would do anything differently, or that they would do anything differently from the way the House is doing things.

The constitution is a powerful, simple concept.
Those who follow it are very despised by the government, politicians, the news media and pop culture.
Anyone opposing Ted Cruz’ behavior can be easily called out by the illogical nature of their arguments.

The republican congress is worthless as a majority, as things stand now.
That is a fact.
They have exhibited absolutely zero inclination to repeal Obamacare, and their talk is cheaper than their approval rating right now, which is about 12%.
Imagine anyone else with those numbers.
So what? Mere window dressing.
Generally, I like Ms. Strassel. She does a good job of exposing the corruption in DC.
But just like the editors at WSJ, she sits in NY and hasn't a clue about what's happening out here in the US.
The WSJ is no friend of the Tea Party, they like things just as they are, lots of cheap money (that is--our money)!

That’s the assumption that comes first to my mind.
Its roots are in the destruction of the family we are experiencing.
When no one is home to discuss decision making and morality considerations, things get out of hand.
There is no one in politics but Ted Cruz and another handful, plus the constitution they are all obligated to uphold, even considering our children and the health of our country.
The WSJ is very wrong, here. And there is no logic to their viewpoint anywhere to be found in this piece.

Columnist Strassel just tried to put lipstick on the whole bunch of them, by smearing a patriot.
Cruz and Lee are the last glimpse of the last sunset on the USA, the Constitution, and Bill of Rights, if we can’t hold the line and keep our God before us.
The last GOP Senate majority spent like DemocRats and power shared. They don’t know how or want to lead.
