If it wasn't for Global Warming, there'd be no Great Lakes, no Niagara Falls, no Yosemite National Park, no GLACIER National Park.

All these beautiful landscapes were carved out by advancing and retreating glaciers.

Without Global Warming, there'd be no England, Ireland, Scotland, Scandanavia. Ten thousand years ago, all these countries were under a thousand feet of ice.

The Finger Lakes region in New York had ice sheets TWO MILES thick! The latest glacial episode was most extensive around 21,000 years ago, when glaciers covered almost the entire state. Around 19,000 years ago, the climate warmed, and the glacier began to retreat, disappearing entirely from New York for the last time around 11,000 years ago.

That is an incomprehensible amount of ice. Imagine living at an altitude of 10,000 feet, the elevation of Leadville, CO, in the middle of NYS!

One thing never explained is source of the all the heat needed to melt that enormous amount of ice. WHY did the climate warm up 19,000 years ago?
