U.S. home resales fell more than expected in January and hit an 18 month-low as the combination of cold weather and a lack of housing stock sidelined potential buyers.

The National Association of Realtors said on Friday home sales dropped 5.1 percent to an annual rate of 4.62 million units, the lowest level since July 2012. December's sales pace was unrevised at 4.87 million.

Conservatives are responsible for this because they caused global warming which causes extreme cold. I’m now going to raise the temp in my freezer so that my ice cubes freeze faster.

I just happen to see an interview with one of these Real Estate Guys on Fox Business on how the young buys are going to save the market.

The Girl who was doing the interview said are you sure that most are ready to buy a house?

She said 1 in 4 young adult still lives at home

Job Market bleak

Young College grads loaded with debt.

He said they only interviewed those will high paying professional jobs.

The National Association of Realtors says sales fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.62 million units last month. That was down 5.1 percent from the December pace. The sales rate declined 5.1 percent over the previous 12 months. Higher mortgage rates and higher prices have contributed to a slowdown in home buying in five of the past six months.

The median home price has risen 10.7 percent to $188,900 since January 2013. The flagging sales suggest a deceleration from the momentum for much of 2013, when 5.09 million homes were sold, the most in seven years.

The one thing that Obami (he who speaks with forked tongue) slipped up and said the other day I agree with. He was saying Americans could make "a lot more, potentially, with skilled manufacturing or the trades than they might with an art history degree."

Many "students" wind up getting totally worthless degrees and waste their lives going to college. I wish they had some sort of common sense direction on what to do when they graduate high school. That is severely lacking. Not everyone should go to college - this is a myth. Just like home ownership is not for everyone. Some are terribly irresponsible and only wind up hurting their neighborhood.

It’s been nothing but sunny and warm in the West, and their home sales are down, too. It couldn’t have anything to do with the fact that many families are now going to have to pay as much for their health care as they do for their mortgage, could it?

As NIMBYs are foreclosed and die of old age, no one will buy most of those places in the West. Then the local governments will simply take them all and continue on federal funding and tourism (already begun).
