After Chris Christie, Scott Walker is the next target of the MSM knockout game

Having successfully demonized Chris Christie over the closure of traffic lanes on a bridge, the leftist mainstream media are now targeting Scott Walker, another very promising potential GOP candidate for president.

All of this in the context media downplaying and outright ignoring revelations of lies under oath in a scandal that cost four American lives including an ambassador that reflects badly on Hillary Clinton.

The Washington Post offered a front page story intimating Scott Walker faces a scandal in an ongoing investigation launched by his political enemies in Wisconsin (who are legion because he successfully took on the public employee unions and won the right for workers to decline union membership, which many of them are now exercising. Jim Gerraghty summarizes in NRO:

"The story can be found here; it points out that of the two criminal investigations mentioned in the lead, one "is closed and found no wrongdoing by the governor" but has "the potential to embarrass him."

One revelation is that "e-mails show he knew county officials were working closely with campaign officials." Of course, the problem isn't county officials and campaign officials "working closely" - the public official's schedule and other matters require communication between the two offices. The problem is when taxpayer dollars are used for campaign purposes, or if public employees work on campaigns on the taxpayer's dime. One complaint is that the county officials used private e-mail accounts for political communications with the governor, allegedly to "shield political business from public scrutiny." But if the county officials had used their official work accounts, wouldn't they be doing campaign work on a taxpayer-funded and supplied e-mail account? The effort to avoid the scandal is being cited as a scandal.

The other investigation is examining "possible illegal political coordination during the 2012 recall election."

Did Obama ever use government resources for his re-election campaign?

Once they finish off Walker, next up will be Cruz.

It’s amazing how methodically efficient the left “media” are in the systematic destruction of political enemies.

Obama scheme - kill one American Patriot at a time. Then mass killings of the Americans that try to fight back.

Since we have seen this tactic before maybe there is a way to get out in front of this mess?

What I have found amazing is the skill Cruz has in not only avoiding the traps set in media interviews, but in going on the offense. In a recent CNN interview he cut through a series of global warming gotcha questions not by apologizing for being conservative... but by pointing out the lies, hypocrisy and factual problems that plague the other side.

One of the problems we have had in the past is that the only people who would go into politics are the very ones we don’t want as leaders. I hope that the example being set will encourage more of the right people to jump in.

It won't work with Walker. He's way too clean, easily the most vetted public official currently in office. I am in Wisconsin and saw what they tried to do. This is a pillow fight by comparison; with all of it, Walker won the recall vote by a greater margin than the original election. Unlike with Christie, there's no "there" there.

Remember the anticipation of the Sarah Palin e-mails? This is in the same category.

Yup.

The media didn’t ambush Chris Christie, and you have to be as personally corrupt to try to excuse him as the Hillary supporters trying to obfuscate Benghazi are.

Sometimes politicians get caught doing stupid crap.

Although I admired Walker when he was battling the leftists and the unionists in WI, I'm afraid he will be (if not already) assimilated by the GOPe.

I'm ok with the media knocking out New Jersey Fats, though.

The media, demodummies and rhinos will go after anyone who appears to be a threat to them. Look what they did to Palin. Scott walker is indeed a threat, as was Christy and is Cruz to name but a few. I anticipate the near future for Walker will be a bumpy road and sincerely hope the will fend off the attack. He has been a GREAT Governor here in Wisconsin and would make one hell of a GREAT PRESIDENT if he can weather the storm that will soon be upon him.

They have had success with bashing Christie because he has furnished them with a lot of ammunition. Christie is through...he just doesn’t know it.

Boy do I hope you’re correct. I do worry that he will morph into a Bush, Ryan, Romney, Dole, etc. however. DC has a way of corrupting all who touch it.

What I am grateful for is the left is doin our job for us. They are getting rid of the RINOs. I know Walker isn’t one, but then again, he needs to be exactly where he is for another few years.

Personally I think the rats are looking for a Cruz vs Socialist matchup. They believe they can win with Hillary against the Cojservative.

They are going to be in for a rude awakening. Especially if they lose.

Unfortunately, as the latest poll in Ohio shows, people REALLY do prefer a pig.
