Senators Demand FBI Head Answer Questions About Indictment of Dinesh D'Souza
Weekly Standard ^ | 2/21/14 | DANIEL HALPER

Four United States Senators have a written a letter to FBI director James Comey about the indictment of author and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza. Senators Charles Grassley, ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, Jeff Sessions, Ted Cruz, and Mike Lee are the four senators, all Republicans, to have signed the letter.

The letter quotes Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz as saying, "I can't help but think that [D'Souza's] politics have something to do with it. ... It smacks of selective prosecution."

And, the senators write, "To dispel this sort of public perception that Mr. D'Souza may have been targeted because of his outspoken criticisms of the President, it is important for the FBI to be transparent regarding the precise origin of this investigation."

The senators provide a dozen direct questions for the FBI director to answer. "To explain the details of these routine reviews and provide context to those who may be skeptical of the origins of this investigation, please provide answers to the following questions regarding FBI's regular review of campaign files:

Does anyone doubt that whoever is responsible for the TARGETED ATTACK will be prosecuted?

I believe Dinesh has another film coming out in advance of congressional elections.

It will likely be a good one; his collaborator is the man who made "Schindler's List".

If this is true, this is no doubt why the IRS targeted him in an attempt to discredit his message.

The letter quotes Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz as saying, “I can’t help but think that [D’Souza’s] politics have something to do with it. ... It smacks of selective prosecution.”

The only question I have here is why it took so long to write the letter. It’s become obvious to me over the last five years that we either stand up for our rights or they’re gone. Sadly more and more politically appointed judges have made rulings that trample our guaranteed rights. And where court rulings are not made, governing agencies like the EPA and IRS make them. We need to respond quickly and aggressively while awaiting our turn at the ballot box. Issues need to see daylight and remain in full sight lest the public forget transgressions against citizens, both individually and in general.

This wasn’t political.
Nor was having the IRS audit Sarah Palin’s Dad. Repeatedly.
Nor was the IRS audit of the guy with lung cancer who criticized Obamacare.
Or the raid of Gibson Guitar.
Or phone-tapping Congress, or Merkel.
Or ...

Boehner: . . . "i just wanna know who's going to jail" . .

Oh, wait, that was the SOTH response to the Obama led weaponization of the Internal Revenue Service. I'm sure nothing will come of this. .

If pressed by "media", Obama will claim the first he heard about it was from a story in Playgirl magazine or Cosmopolitan.

- I am looking at having some simple basic black baseball caps (Magum PI style) made up with the two words : YOU LIE boldly printed on them -

- i doubt many politically savvy people will want to stop and chat about the weather with me -

- There was very recent poll taken on how the various groups would vote on another OBAMA Vs ROMNEY election after the Obamaqueer mess and more - such as blacks losing even more jobs - with an unemployment rate of 14.5% - more surprising was the Hispanics -

- Sorry - I cannot give you the URL/source or polling outfit name - others with better STML can correct, edit, add info please -

- HISPANICS - 100% voted NO for Obama (78% voted for Obama in 2012) do not lrepeatedly lie to Hispanics

- BLACKS - 45% voted NO for Obama (99% voted for Obama in 2012) - wow - see Chicago black clergy meetings recently - goodbye Barry

- ALL DEMOCRATS - 55% of DEMS voted NO for Obama (80-something% voted for Obama in 2012)

- ASIANS -sorry - I cannot recall - (but wow - 82% voted for Obama in 2012) - more recent west coast welfare Asians are mostly moochers

- OBAMA Vs ROMNEY right now - Obama - 46% / Romney - 54%

- It’s the economy & leaving those brave Americans behind in Benghazi stupid!

Obama’s “transparent” alright; you can see right through him like a little boy caught with his hand in the cookie jar - an ugly little boy at that.

And when they are ignored or get a brush off reply, what are they going to do about it? I think we are past the time when the GOPe can or is willing to be a check on the Obama Regime. The only real avenue of control (other that the people themselves) is through the House and Boehner and that isn’t going to happen. The GOPe must change radically or be replaced by a new party.

When a president seeks to imprison someone who makes movies about him that he doesn’t like, or when a president forces his FCC into newsrooms to ensure his image be properly maintained.. Uhh, it’s time to wonder if there will even be a 2016 election. No wonder Hillary isn’t making any moves.

It is a very good letter. But I suspect that it will be ignored. Holder has already demonstrated how to handle inquiries. He ignores them. There are no penalties.

After all, the Senate is dominated by Democrats who support selective prosecution, harassment, and intimidation of their enemies. They are enjoying great success at this time.

My respect for Alan Dershowitz continues to grow. He has been as liberal as they come for most of his life, but the recent pronouncements against this regime’s march to totalitarianism shows that he is above all a man of principle.

There are indications oozing from the Senate that argue for public hangings ... the fascism is glaring at We The disenfranchised People, yet these thuggish bastards continue to squash men like Dinesh who expose the ugliness of the current regime. But his one is only one order of magnitude fascist over the previous one.
