how did he know they were cops?Perhaps a rotating red beacon on the patrol car? Not sure when police cruisers started getting lights... but maybe that's how he knew?

Seems to be a lot of cops with that mentality. One must wonder how many murders they get away with via the same sort of "sting" operation...
My heart goes out to the brave and honest LEOs that have to live amid the scum that tarnishes them all.
