South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley didn’t mince words when she spoke about unions at an automotive conference in Greenville this week. The state loves its manufacturing jobs from BMW, Michelin and Boeing and welcomes more, she explained, but not if they’re bringing a unionized workforce with them.

They aren’t welcome in Arizona either. Stay out of my paycheck, thugs!
Awesome to hear.
Gov. Haley Ping!
“Its because were kicking them every day, and well continue to kick them.
I love you Nikki. No, I’m not Laz.
“Works” for me. ;>}
Need to start looking at real estate in South Carolina.
Someone should start up an American car company and locate it in SC.
Glad Nikki is my governor. Not perfect but does pretty good.
The only unions that will be left are Federal Government unions, they won’t last long.
Frances Perkins, FDR's witch, is suffering eternal torment for the scourge of unionism and the minimum wage.
This counter balances New York in saying Conservatives are not welcome.
Absolutely, great point.
Love that Nikki Haley and love that Trey Gowdy. Joe Wilson is terrific too. South Carolina rocks!
“The only unions that will be left are Federal Government unions, they wont last long.”
Privatize the US Postal Service. That would be a good start!
It sure does! And it stood firm against thugs on April 12, 1861 just as today, South Carolina bravely stands against the tyranny of obama's union goons. When the scourge of unionism (and the minimum wage) are abolished, America's economic might will be unchallenged for centuries! Red China will be reduced, as it was before, to a mewing, puking, cowering third world entity.
that and dumping the union may buy them sometime.
I’ve read that the folks who opposed the UAW in VW Chattanooga TN did a good job of showing the voters that the UAW supports gun control and abortion.
Supposedly that was an excellent wedge issue.
I hadn’t read that but it’s not only smart but true.
When I first read about VW giving a green light to the union I thought it was all over.
My hat is off to the workers that they shot it down, let’s hope 0bummer’s NLRB doesn’t undo it.
Unions have always been on the wrong side of every issue that are vital to America's interests. Aside from FDR's evil witch, Frances Perkins (mentioned by me in an earlier post), the racketeers of the Big Labor mobocracy are rooted in communism. The Wobblies paved the way for pinko thugs such as I.W. Able, David Dubinsky, Samuel Gompers and host of other anti-American traitors. Of course, the notorious Eugene V. Debs was an ally of unionism.
So what? Real Americans are rewarded for their contributions in the free market not the artificial environment of a government (read featherbedding) "work"place.
What about your public education system?
Yep. And not all sit behind a desk collecting fat salaries. Some even have production rates.
And your point is?
I don’t necessarily want politicians who are “perfect” which makes them too rigid to deal with real life exigencies. But I demand that they be honest...at least as honest as faith and the Holy Spirit empowers them to be!
You got a raise just 4 years ago?
The Reuther brothers worked in Russian factories to learn the communist system. It was no secret even at the time they were first organizing Ford and GM in the 30s.
I wish North Carolina could break out, but the Triangle of liberal universities has enslaved this state. It will follow Virginia if it doesn’t take immediate, radical steps.
No thanks! Keep it up north where it belongs!
Yeah, but unless you are in a right to work state, they take dues out of your check even if you are not a member.
And they probably try in RTW states too.
Here in California if you work 40 hours a month (that's a month, the hours normally worked in a week) they take close to 3 hours pay every month.
That's hundreds of $'s a year to the SEIU thugs that beat up a friend of mine and took his Gadsden Don't Tread On Me flags at a tea party rally.
They got off after a very long court battle with a finger shaking.
Unions are seeped in illegal activities and sell their votes to dems.
Forced unionization and withholding of union dues from paychecks must be outlawed.
Federal worker unions can be abolished with the stroke of a pen.
Well, at least you have a job...
Millions of Americans don't...
Just how hard is it to get fired from a federal job...anyway?
I know for three years from 2009 to 2012 I woke up everyday not knowing if the company would shut down the place I run for them...
Believe me I wasn't worried about getting a raise !!!
So what have we here. Hmmmm. A leftist government employee signed on just today to whine about not getting a RAISE when real Americans don't even know that that term means since the obama regime has been in power. Your post, to which you deign to not stick around and engage with true Conservatives, has an implicit approval of unionism in it. Unions are evil -- they champion abortion on demand, the homosexual agenda, destruction of the precious Second Amendment and a number of other causes near and dear to commies.
I think it's pretty evident by your "post and run" behavior that you favor big government and other forms of anti-American liberalism. The founder of Free Republic, Mr. Jim Robinson, said it best four years or so ago:
Welcome aboard Navy. I think you are supposed to be here awhile before you go spoiling people''s rants.
It's just good form.
The full force of RICO laws can be applied to end the scourge unionism and the equally evil minimum wage. Simply put unions are anti-freedom, anti-liberty and 100% pro-slavery.
Sounds like a sea story, chief.
“Public employee unions represent workers at every level of government federal, state and local. Since contract negotiations for these workers are dependent not on private corporations, but on the size of government budgets, this is the one segment of the labor movement that can actually contribute directly to the people with ultimate responsibility for its livelihood. While their giving pattern matches that of other unions (which overwhelmingly support Democrats), public sector unions also concentrate contributions on members of Congress from both parties who sit on committees that deal with federal budgets and agencies.
This broad category encompasses teachers, firefighters, police officers, postal workers and any other employee of the government at any level. Their legislative demands therefore vary significantly. Like any union, however, public sector unions focus primarily on strengthening workers’ rights and working conditions, securing fair wages, buying domestically produced goods, guaranteeing workers’ safety and eliminating corporations’ abuse of their employees.”
I'll ask one more time BTC USNVET. What is your point? There was not one word in Gov. Haley's address that mentioned government unions.
I'll predict that he's not going to answer. He signed up today to attack freedom and liberty via a not-so-well contrived backhanded defense of unionism and an over appeal to federal "workers". And, he'll probably be oh-so-offended by the statement that the unemployment rate of federal "workers" ought to rise north of 85% to get the government off our backs.
-- President Ronald W. Reagan
Yep, I noticed s/he signed up today for the post on this thread, just giving it the benefit of the doubt. :-)
Maybe not, MeanMaryJean.
This Yankee is a South Carolinian by choice-—and the last person you would brand a “liberal”.
Luv our Guv.
The union has no, I repeat, no bargaining powers for wages, annual or sick leave, government workers can’t strike and wages are set by Congress.
So, exactly what is the purpose of government employees (not ‘workers’) having unions, if they have no bargaining powers?
I believe it’s to extract dues to fund the union leaders’ lush lifestyles and fund PACs that support the progressive Democrat Party.
Why do the government-run public schools, colleges and universities in most RTW States require the teachers/instructors to belong to the union to be employed? Such unions are no better than the UAW, SEIU, AFL-CIO and others, in that they maintain the seniority policies and just salivate at getting dues.
Well, Mr./Ms. Yankee...glad to have you! And even more glad to know you’re not of the “liberal” persuasion! Welcome “home!”
