So what? Real Americans are rewarded for their contributions in the free market not the artificial environment of a government (read featherbedding) "work"place.
Yep. And not all sit behind a desk collecting fat salaries. Some even have production rates.
And your point is?
You got a raise just 4 years ago?
Yeah, but unless you are in a right to work state, they take dues out of your check even if you are not a member.
And they probably try in RTW states too.
Here in California if you work 40 hours a month (that's a month, the hours normally worked in a week) they take close to 3 hours pay every month.
That's hundreds of $'s a year to the SEIU thugs that beat up a friend of mine and took his Gadsden Don't Tread On Me flags at a tea party rally.
They got off after a very long court battle with a finger shaking.
Unions are seeped in illegal activities and sell their votes to dems.
Well, at least you have a job...
Millions of Americans don't...
Just how hard is it to get fired from a federal job...anyway?
I know for three years from 2009 to 2012 I woke up everyday not knowing if the company would shut down the place I run for them...
Believe me I wasn't worried about getting a raise !!!
So what have we here. Hmmmm. A leftist government employee signed on just today to whine about not getting a RAISE when real Americans don't even know that that term means since the obama regime has been in power. Your post, to which you deign to not stick around and engage with true Conservatives, has an implicit approval of unionism in it. Unions are evil -- they champion abortion on demand, the homosexual agenda, destruction of the precious Second Amendment and a number of other causes near and dear to commies.
I think it's pretty evident by your "post and run" behavior that you favor big government and other forms of anti-American liberalism. The founder of Free Republic, Mr. Jim Robinson, said it best four years or so ago:
Welcome aboard Navy. I think you are supposed to be here awhile before you go spoiling people''s rants.
It's just good form.
Sounds like a sea story, chief.
“Public employee unions represent workers at every level of government federal, state and local. Since contract negotiations for these workers are dependent not on private corporations, but on the size of government budgets, this is the one segment of the labor movement that can actually contribute directly to the people with ultimate responsibility for its livelihood. While their giving pattern matches that of other unions (which overwhelmingly support Democrats), public sector unions also concentrate contributions on members of Congress from both parties who sit on committees that deal with federal budgets and agencies.
This broad category encompasses teachers, firefighters, police officers, postal workers and any other employee of the government at any level. Their legislative demands therefore vary significantly. Like any union, however, public sector unions focus primarily on strengthening workers’ rights and working conditions, securing fair wages, buying domestically produced goods, guaranteeing workers’ safety and eliminating corporations’ abuse of their employees.”

I'll ask one more time BTC USNVET. What is your point? There was not one word in Gov. Haley's address that mentioned government unions.
The union has no, I repeat, no bargaining powers for wages, annual or sick leave, government workers can’t strike and wages are set by Congress.

So, exactly what is the purpose of government employees (not ‘workers’) having unions, if they have no bargaining powers?
I believe it’s to extract dues to fund the union leaders’ lush lifestyles and fund PACs that support the progressive Democrat Party.
Why do the government-run public schools, colleges and universities in most RTW States require the teachers/instructors to belong to the union to be employed? Such unions are no better than the UAW, SEIU, AFL-CIO and others, in that they maintain the seniority policies and just salivate at getting dues.
