BACKSTORY Women: Sen. Bob Menendez paid us for sex in the Dominican Republic
THE DAILY CALLER ^ | 1/11/12 | Matthew Boyle w/ Charles C. Johnson contributing.

Two women from the Dominican Republic told The Daily Caller that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez paid them for sex earlier this year (2012). In videotaped interviews, the two women said they met Menendez around Easter at Casa de Campo, an expensive 7,000-acre resort in the Dominican Republic. They claimed Menendez agreed to pay them $500 for sex acts, but in the end they each received only $100.

The women spoke through a translator in the company of their attorney, Melanio Figueroa. Both asked that their identities remain obscured for fear of reprisals in the Dominican Republic.

When shown a photograph of Sen. Menendez, the women said they recognized him as the man with whom they’d had sexual relations at Casa de Campo this spring. Both said they were brought to the resort with the understanding they would be paid for sex.

Neither knew the identity of the man at the time. Both claimed to recognize him later as Sen. Menendez. “He called him[self] ‘Bob,’” said one.

One woman said Menendez wooed her with compliments like “beautiful” before they slept together. The other woman recounted, with apparent bitterness, receiving from an intermediary only $100 of the $500 she had been promised. “He lies,” she said of Menendez. “He says one thing and does another.”

According to the translator’s summary, Menendez “was nice at first, but then later he did not seem to care about her.” Menendez, a former Congressman, who is 58 and divorced, has represented New Jersey in the U.S. Senate as a Democrat since being appointed to fill a vacancy in 2005.

Asked about the allegations, Menendez spokeswoman Tricia Enright refused to answer any questions on the subject. “We’re not going to respond to a completely false accusation,” she wrote by email.

It is known that Sen. Menendez has been a regular visitor to the Dominican Republic. On at least one occasion, according to a news account, Menendez has been a guest at the Casa de Campo home of a friend and campaign donor named Dr Salomon Melgen, an ophthalmologist and owner of an eye clinic in Florida.

Melgen has donated $14,700 (as of 2012) to Menendez’s campaigns since 1993, with the bulk of it coming since he became a U.S. Senator, according to FEC data collected by the Center for Responsive Politics.

Melgen also appears to have lent Menendez the use of his plane on several occasions. Menendez’s 2012 public schedule shows no events listed for Easter or the following three days. Aircraft records obtained by TheDC show that Melgen’s plane left Florida the morning of Easter Sunday this year, stopped at the Teterboro private airport near Menendez’s home in New Jersey, and flew on to the Dominican Republic. Two days later it returned to the United States from a private airport near Casa de Campo.

The rage of a whore not paid the agreed price knows no bounds. Their pimp should have known better when dealing with a lowlife like Menendez.

How dare you waste space on Free Republic trying to bring down a Democrat from New Jersey. To date there has been NO resolving the evil and corrupt actions of the REPUBLICAN governor of that bedeviled state.
The governors tyrannical action of causing a (gasp) TRAFFIC JAM must be treated as the crime against humanity it truly is.

UPDATE-—POLITICO’S KEVIN CIRILLI reported 3/6/13 that Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) said it isn’t necessary for him to return to the Dominican Republic after a judge there looking into prostitution allegations indicated that he wants to hear from the New Jersey Democrat or a representative on his behalf.

“We’ll have our lawyer look at it, but the bottom line is they don’t need me to pursue all of the interests and issues that lie within the Dominican Republic,” Menendez told The New Jersey Star-Ledger. “I don’t know what I could tell them that would change anything.”

Menendez has been mired in controversy amid claims that he visited with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic while staying with Salomon Melgen, a Florida doctor and campaign donor. Menendez has denied the allegations. Menendez has maintained all along that he never paid prostitutes for sex, said he is looking forward to whatever evidence emerges from courts in the Dominican Republic to vindicate him.

ASSOCIATED PRESS reported that Dominican Judge Ismael Ramirez ordered testimony from Menendez and Melgen. They wouldn’t be required to appear in court at a June 10 hearing but could send attorneys. A Menendez spokeswoman told the AP that the senator doesn’t plan to attend. The ruling came after 23-year-old woman Nexis de los Santos filed legal documents in the Dominican Republic asking officials to block any possible arrests that would result from what she now says are her false allegations that she was a prostitute involved in the scandal, according to the AP.

Despite the controversy dogging him for weeks, Menendez told The NJ Star-Ledger that he has remained focused on his job. “I haven’t missed a beat, and I’m not going to allow baseless, anonymous smears to deviate my attention to the work on behalf of the people of New Jersey, as well as the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee,” he said. A Dominican lawyer last year released an affidavit from a 23-year-old woman saying she fabricated a story about Menendez paying her for sex. “I’ve always said that these are false, they’re smears,” Se Menendez told reporters at the Capitol, referring to published reports that he paid prostitutes for sex in the Dominican Republic. “And, so, I look forward to seeing whatever the Dominican courts have that prove what I’ve said all along.”

Vincio Castillo Seman, a Dominican lawyer, told reporters at a news conference last year in the Dominican Republic that a woman identified as Nexis de los Santos now claims both that she “never went to bed with” Menendez and never actually met him.

Castillo, the son of a Dominican presidential adviser and the brother of a member of the country’s Congress, has been entwined in the scandal himself, accused of hosting sex outings on his yacht in which Menendez used the services of prostitutes. Like Menendez, he has strongly denied the allegations.

Castillo said he would seek a criminal probe into the source of the reports. On Monday, Castillo distributed copies of the woman’s sworn statement to reporters. The woman did not attend. Castillo said de los Santos claims she and a friend were approached by another Dominican lawyer, Melanio Figueroa. The two women recited the accusations on a video that was recorded without their consent, he said.

In an interview with The Miami Herald, Figueroa denied orchestrating the accusations against Menendez. “It was a case that I handled for these women and faithfully represented them for what they said,” he said. Just before Menendez’s successful re-election in November, The Daily Caller, a conservative website, published a story that included a video interview with two women who claimed to be prostitutes.

The women - whose faces were blurred in the video - said Menendez paid them $100 for sex after agreeing to a fee of $500.

On its website early Tuesday, The Daily Caller said neither of the women in the video identified herself as Nexis de los Santos. The website also said both women consented to the presence of a video webcam.

SEX VIDEO In the video released last year, the two women also claimed they had sex with Castillo and Dr. Salomon Melgen, a Florida eye doctor of Dominican descent who is a prominent Democratic campaign contributor and a major supporter of Menendez. De los Santos claims those allegations are also fabricated. Melgen said in a statement that he is pleased Dominican authorities are investigating the prostitution claims, which he says are false.

THE DAILY CALLER REPORTED that The Washington Post falsely reported a story claiming a Daily Caller source had recanted her statement, without contacting The Daily Caller for comment before posting. (Excerpt) Read more at dailycaller.com ...

THE MIAMI HERALD REPORTS that alleged kiddie-prostitute Nexis de los Santos Santana, and Dominican lawyer, Miguel Galván, entered sworn statements claiming they were duped as part of an elaborate plan hatched by a Dominican lawyer under the guise of a divorce case involving Menendez donor/dealer, Salomon Melgen. “I never went to bed with [Menendez or Melgen]. I don’t know them,” de los Santos, 23, said in the testimony.

Good Lord.... I bet he had to pay them with a truckload of money, and or get them very drugged/intoxicated to make that happen! I'm sure he'll get a pass from the voters of NJ and the media. He didn't mess up traffic after all.

Much as most of us despise Menendez, is there a particular reason this 2012 article appears on FR today?

Well, seeing that you asked.......can you say e-v-i-d-e-n-c-e?

FBI agents are investigating allegations that Sen. Bob Menendez had sex with prostitutes while staying in the Dominican Republic home of a close friend and big donor, Florida eye surgeon Dr. Salomon Melgen, according to a new report. The Washington Post reported that a team of FBI agents has traveled to the Dominican Republic in recent weeks to investigate the prostitution claims, which Menendez has vehemently denied. Federal agents in Florida are also interviewing potential witnesses and gathering evidence in the case.

First mistake trusting an elected official promise.

Even a worse mistake trusting a dumb-o-crat elected official promise.

I’m not sure what’s worse, that he’s a pervert or a cheapskate. Of course if he hadn’t been such a cheapskate people might not now know he’s a pervert. You weren’t paying them to have sex with you, “Bob”, you were paying them to go away and shut up about it afterward. And you didn’t pay them enough.

“They claimed Menendez agreed to pay them $500 for sex acts, but in the end they each received only $100.”

Hardly the first time an Elected Person refused to pay a mere Untermenschen for services rendered.

Those who sleep with Senators, like those who vote for them, can expect to be screwed and ripped off.
