Probably could have said that better - isn’t our utility supposed to pay you when your meter runs backwards because you are a net producer of power?

Yes, they have to pay you when you produce more electricity than you consume, but they only pay at the rate that costs them the least to generate, i.e. hydroelectric power.

I understand that Texas utilities don’t have to pay when a user generates more electricity than used.
