What's clearly substandard here is Kay Hagan and many, many other politicians.

My point was that the claim that the "if you like your plan you can keep it" line was not really a massive bald-faced lie because they didn't realize that the insurance plans - that hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians had been happy with for years - were "substandard" is identical to a claim that those same North Carolinians were too stupid to realize that they were satisfied with something that was "substandard."
That's adding insult to injury, because she voted for the law that redefined satisfactory policies as "substandard" in the first place. A second lie, layered upon the first, and compounded with a gross insult to the intelligence every North Carolina voter who had provided their own insurance.
