Maybe they could rent booths to the Democrats and Planned Parenthood (for on-site abortions) while they are at it

“Explicitly “Atheist” and “Agnostic” societies generally have axes to grind.”

Atheists, yes absolutely; they believe they possess the perfect truth that overthrows all others, and lots of them will get out there & hector away.

But agnostics...? How do you militate on behalf of your belief in...nothing in particular? When an agnostic missionary knocks on your door and witnesses to you that “There may be a god, there may not be one, I personally don’t know for sure, I don’t have conclusive proof one way or another, I don’t reject out of hand the notion of a higher power, it’s just beyond my ability to conceptualize the unseeable and unknowable, but anyway...thank you for your time & have a nice day”, do you regard your most fundamental spiritual beliefs as under concerted & determined attack?

I am definitely not an atheist. However, I think they should have been allowed to have a booth at CPAC. Yes, they were being provocateurs by even asking, but I think it would be better for people to see exactly what they are selling, than to give them a chance to claim martyrdom or discrimination.

So the movement can welcome conservative non-believers if they are respectful to believers? I agree.

Then we would have 20% fewer supporters. How is that good?

Atheists are almost all democrats, as few as they are, minuscule in numbers actually, but they do fight America and conservatism with passion and they have influence at the top of the left and media.

I don't know how you got losing 20% of the GOP from reading that post.

An atheist cannot believe in our form of government as it was written by our Founders, atheism is antithetical to the declaration of Independence.

I got it from this in the article:

“‘Conservative’ isn’t a synonym for ‘religious’,” said American Atheists president David Silverman in a statement announcing the booth. “In fact, a fifth of conservatives seldom or never pray, and the same number state religion is not important in their lives.”

Granted, that is a quote from an atheist, so you have to take it with a large grain of thought. So maybe it is half that, say 10%. Whatever the number, unless it is completely negligible, I don’t see have we win by subtraction. But I am not an ideological purist, so your mileage may vary..
